Our education system is in the broken; the main driving force seems to brainwash individuals and produce people that lack diversity or imagination. In fact, the idea of “biological robot” comes to mind. No longer is the Child allowed to explore and examine new concepts; instead, the Child is force-fed a continuous stream of rubbish that passes for education. Valuable books such as Aesops Fables are no longer advocated; it is one of the 1st books that teaches the child the concepts of Mass Psychology and contrarian investing. The stories are very nicely laid out in the form of tales, but the message in these short tales is powerful and gives the Child food for thought as opposed to the teachings of today.

The US education is so bad that we cannot even make it to the top 10 or even the top 20. We barely make it to the top 30 as we currently rank 29th. For a country that is supposed to be the World’s wealthiest we surely produce some of the worlds dumbest individuals. Instead of listing all the reasons, which we could, we will defer to the other persons who have already done the work.

Parents are not involved enough. Of all the things out of the control of teachers, this one is perhaps the most frustrating. Time spent in the classroom is simply not enough for teachers to instruct every student, to teach them what they need to know. There must, inevitably, be some interaction outside school hours. Of course, students at a socio-economic disadvantage often struggle in school, particularly if parents lack higher levels of education. But students from middle and upper-class families aren’t off the hook, either. The demands of careers and an over-dependence on schools put higher-class kids at risk too when it comes to the lack of parental involvement in academics.

Schools are closing left and right. It’s been a rough year for public schools. Many have found themselves on the chopping block. Parents, students and communities as a whole feel targeted, even if school board members are quick to cite unbiased numbers. There is no concrete way to declare a winner in these cases, either. Sometimes, a school closing is simply inevitable, but communities should first look for other solutions.
