President Donald Trump and 17 GOP-controlled states filed motions Wednesday backing Texas’ longshot legal effort to get the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn results in four states that helped deliver the presidency to Democrat Joe Biden.

Trump called this “the big one” after losing more than three dozen cases in federal and state courts alleging ballot tampering and fraud.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed the lawsuit on Monday, effectively asking the nation’s highest court to negate 10.4 million ballots from voters who picked Biden over Trump in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Officials in those states called the lawsuit a baseless stunt. The Supreme Court has given them until 3 p.m. Thursday to file responses.

Trump’s legal team has found no traction in court for his unsubstantiated claims that the election was rigged or stolen, and the president embraced the Texas case as the latest and possibly last potential vehicle to stave off defeat.

The Supreme Court has signaled little interest in second-guessing state election procedures after the fact, though it offered Trump a glimmer of hope by not rejecting Texas’ challenge out of hand.

Only the nation’s high court has jurisdiction in controversies between state governments, though the idea that one state can challenge another’s elections is novel. Sen. John Cornyn, a Republican who served as state attorney general before his election in 2002, was dubious.

“Why would a state, even such a great state as Texas, have a say-so on how other states administer their elections?” he told CNN. “It’s an interesting theory, but I’m not convinced.”

I have to confess that I admire your president. He has a uncanny ability to get himself into trouble when it is not necessary. The conclusion is either perhaps he is sincere and cares for America or it is just an actor to a bad movie that is being directed by the top players

America is still the empire and most battles now are used with drones and tech rather than using humans. Propaganda is very beneficial for empires and soon the masses will be the living dead, unable to see, hear or formulate a single thought. 2020 exposes that even more

I totally agree, but with Trump, it is different, he is not a professional politician. And here in Europe, all the politicians are professional, therefore they all consider him as a clown. I would like to have such a clown at the top of my country, working for the benefits of his country.

I dug a little bit and it seems like the organization that "conducted a forensic audit" is Allied Security Operations Group. They seem dubious. I'm politically right wing myself and would love nothing more to find proof of voter fraud so this isn't trump derangement syndrome talking. The website is a weird mix of technology services like a private company might provide, and a mission statement that seems like that of a non-profit. They have an interview on their website alleging the software fraud that I find a bit hokey. But the other telltales to me are no physical address for the organization (although they have a texas DPS number whatever that is) no names of people who are directors. I think the biggest news since yesterday that the MSM did not report was that there are now seven States with dueling electors.

In my humble opinion, this is the best path for a Trump re-election - get the State legislators in contested States to send in their own set of electors. Mission accomplished

Going by the US constitution, there is now only one path for Biden to win the election - for Trump to concede, and this is never going to happen.

Call me crazy, but reading the tea leaves, Trump will be inaugurated on January 20, 2021.

And then there are the lawsuits by companies that supply voting machines - whether they were actually used in these elections or not! Same Pendulum building steam!
