IBS problems . this gastroenteroligist (who happens to be my Doc in that area) top notch in Canada (even does pancreatic scopes) is one of few Docs md's who believes in some natural remedies and has a USA site for selling his synergetic l-glutamin mix formula and one lady i know has zero problems as long as she takes it. It just happens to be on sale for Xmas (a good xmas present perhaps for someone u know is suffering?

Additional benefits from Mumio/Shilajit
https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/ph ... flammationAnalgesic, Anti-inflammatory, and Antiulcerogenic Activity
Shilajit at an intraperitoneal dose of 200 mg/kg exhibited significant analgesic activity relative to control based on the rat tail flick method. Shilajit at an intraperitoneal dose of 50 mg/kg decreased carrageenan-induced inflammation in the rat paw by approximately 75%. When shilajit was given orally at doses of 50–200 mg/kg twice per day to rats, significant dose-dependent decreases in the gastric ulcer index were observed, thus demonstrating significant antiulcerogenic activity (Acharya et al., 1988). Shilajit exhibited antiulcerogenic and anti-inflammatory activity when given at an oral dose of 100 mg/kg twice per day in rats (Goel et al., 1990). Shilajit decreased the gastric ulcer index and increased the carbohydrate/protein ratio, indicating an increased mucosal barrier. Furthermore, shilajit administration decreased carrageenan-induced acute pedal edema, granuloma pouch, and adjuvant-induced arthritis in these animals, indicating significant anti-inflammatory activity. Studies by Ghosal (2006) suggested that the antiulcerogenic effect of fulvic acids and biphenyls isolated from shilajit was due to protection of the gastrointestinal mucosa with less shedding of mucosal cells. Shilajit samples from Yemen (Al-Jouf and Rayma) and India (Kumoan) given orally to rats (600 mg/kg) inhibited both ulcer score and lesion area by greater percentages than ranitidine (El-Sayed et al., 2012). A study involving mice has provided information on the ability of shilajit to exhibit glycine-mimetic and GABA-mimetic actions on the brainstem substantia gelatinosa neurons of the trigeminal subnucleus caudalis. Mouse brainstem slices were incubated with shilajit in the presence of various receptor antagonists and channel blockers. Shilajit induced inward currents in a concentration-dependent manner. This indicates that shilajit has central nervous system (CNS)-sedating ingredients and can mechanistically explain reports of musculoskeletal pain relief (Yin et al., 2011).

The Mrs. just ordered some neem powder, I assume powdered leaves. Lots of purported benefits, and a few warnings. What say y'all?

The best way to find out is to experiment and then see if there are any positive benefits. I know many that claimed that X supplement or herb would yield marvellous results, but often after experimenting with them, the result was mediocre and could be duplicated by something else I was already taking.

Yodean, What is your conclusion on the shungite and earthing mat?Yodean wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 1:00 pm Currently wearing my shungite arrowhead pendant as well as EMF Protection bracelet-band and pinhole glasses as I type this, lol, and my bare feet are on one of those Mercola grounding/earthing mats. Apart from the pinhole glasses, which are pretty amazing, I am not totally sure any of the other devices are doing anything, but if they induce a powerful and significant placebo effect, I am good with that.
I have been wearing Shungite from Russia for about a year when I go out to public gatherings, and I can say for a certainty, it does not do anything for me. I can still feel the effects of the emf's just the same with it, or without it.
I have never tried the earthing mat, but I read somewhere that they are not great for your health. It has something to do with you becoming a part of the circuit of electricity. Even if you ground it to the actual ground, if there are currents around you, you become a part of that circuit. You can use a meter to measure your body voltage.
I have found that when I actually ground on the earth it is very helpful to balance the electrons. I notice a feeling of calmness come over me.
I sleep in a canopy shield that I built out of high performance silver mesh fabric on a frame of 1" pvc pipe. It has a surface resistivity is 50dB from 30 MHz to 3 GHz. It used to give me complete blockage of all emf's when I built it in 2018, but now that we have 5G in my area, there is some leakage. https://lessemf.com
I want to buy a high quality meter. Gigahertz Solutions in Germany has been working to develop new meters that will be able to read the higher frequencies. Previously, when I wanted to buy one, they were not available, but, they have two available now. These are professional grade meters. There is a company in Canada, Safe Living Technologies, that has recently developed their own meter that will measure higher frequencies. I would consider this more of a pocket meter, good for caring discreetly. https://safelivingtechnologies.com
I have been trying to figure out why some people can feel the emf's, and yet most can not. I am wondering if it is a matter of someone having too many heavy metals in their system. My hair analysis always test high in copper. Although, I would think we are all high in heavy metals with all the chem-trailing going on.
I just happened upon an interesting theory this past weekend in "Cu-RE Your Fatigue: The Root Cause and How To Fix It On Your Own" by Morley Robbins. His protocol is to take Vit. C for adrenals, add mineral drops to your water, take magnesium, and beef liver, Vit. E, and boron, and taurine, etc. I am going to follow his protocol for a while to see the effects.
From his website: The Root Cause Protocol (RCP) was developed by Morley Robbins, who transformed a career in the mainstream medical industry into a quest to learn the fundamental components of a healthy metabolism. Since 2009, he has pored over books, manuals, and thousands of scholarly articles in this pursuit. After he realized the powerful role magnesium plays in all metabolic systems, he went on to learn that copper partners with magnesium to produce the energy that gives us life. The RCP is the
culmination of his efforts and is revolutionary in its approach to health from a truly holistic perspective, by looking at the whole organism (your body!) and how all the elements work together, rather than limiting the focus to isolated nutrients or conditions. Oxidative stress stemming from disruptions in mitochondrial energy production is the starting point to disease conditions. Supporting the body’s energy creation and flow allows healing to occur at all levels and in all systems.
Increasing Energy is made possible by:
1) Increasing bioavailable copper in order to…
2) Decrease unbound iron and…
3) Decrease the magnesium burn rate (MBR) in order to…protect the REDOX
(Reduction-Oxidation) reactions that run the homeostasis of the body. When magnesium is not constantly being lost, the body is better able to regulate and preserve oxygen.
4) Sustaining cellular mineral balance -- the root cause of virtually all health challenges.
Stated more scientifically, the RCP is designed to support the body’s desire to harness the energy of oxygen.
This two-fold process will:
● Activate oxygen to create energy in the mitochondria
● Deactivate oxidants (accidents with oxygen) to clear exhaust
○ Ceruloplasmin (Cp) is a copper dependent protein that in a healthy body enables
ferroxidase function.
○ Ferroxidase (FOX), the “active” form of ceruloplasmin, is the enzyme that
regulates or chaperones iron and prevents it from “rusting" i.e. oxidizing.
Ferroxidase is the master antioxidant enzyme that regulates iron status in the
body.
○ Dysregulated, unbound, excess iron is the greatest source of oxidative stress
and inflammation in the body.

-no firm conclusion, either way, re/ my shungite necklace - it was cheap, ordered off Amazon - so unclear if it is really the "real" shungite - but looks pretty good (black inverted triangle, makes me look a bit evil/esoteric, which I kind of like, especially when I do sports outside with my shirt off during the summer months), so I continue to wear it;LoriPrecisely wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 1:29 am
Yodean, What is your conclusion on the shungite and earthing mat?
I have been wearing Shungite from Russia for about a year when I go out to public gatherings, and I can say for a certainty, it does not do anything for me. I can still feel the effects of the emf's just the same with it, or without it.
I have never tried the earthing mat, but I read somewhere that they are not great for your health. It has something to do with you becoming a part of the circuit of electricity. -earthing mat - unclear if it is doing anything, good or bad, to me; however, my spouse and I try to earth the natural way outside when we can, by sitting or lying on the grass in our bare feet, or touching our palms to trees while talking (I guess we are "tree huggers" in a way) during our walks/jogs, and it definitely seems to make a positive difference; like you alluded to, earthing seems to decrease cortisol/chronic systemic inflammation --> increased calmness, better sleep; however, some of the beneficial effects may be from shinrin-yoku ("forest bathing"), since we're usually earthing in a park;
-I have some EMF blockers that you stick in electrical outlets, as well as the more esoteric ones, including one I wear on my wrist; the ones that are plugged into electrical outlets seem to be doing something, since when I try to charge my phone near those outlets that have the EMF blockers, the charging time takes 2 to 3 times as long; I have one of those EMF handheld detectors, but have not found it to be that useful - basically, the readings go up near electrical outlets, microwaves, computer components, etc.
-I dimly recall reading somewhere a long time ago that magnesium supplementation (in many different types of magnesium) could help reduce the harmful effects of EMFs; besides consuming foods that contain magnesium, I generally supplement with 2 different forms of magnesium on most nights (citrate, threonate); as you prolly know, magnesium has a lot of other important biological functions;
-my guess is that people have different levels of susceptibility or sensitivity to EMFs (similar to how gluten sensitivity differs among individuals);
-a long time ago, fellow sub Hooligan posted a bit about this stuff (EMFs), and I thought it was very good - most of it made it in some form to my journal; you could prolly search his posts and maybe find something useful there;
-I think with a lot of these types of health practices, because they don't make Big Pharma or the government any money, we won't be able to definitively say whether they work or not for any given individual, or specify their exact biological mechanism of action; there are often some small studies (not enough money is spent on these types of studies, since you can't patent them, like you can with medications) that hint at certain conclusions, but that's about it; a bit of personal experimentation goes a long way;

Don't forget the very powerful effect of the thymus gland. In most individuals, it completely vanishes over the years and is replaced by fat. It is most active during the neonatal stages, which is quite telling. In some experiments, they showed how the thymus almost vanished when the organism was subjected to high amounts of stress and then improved in size after the stress factor was removed and the organism was put in a soothing environment. This could be one reason why meditation, yoga, etc. help.
When it comes to supplements, one has to be careful as many of them, even the ones that claim to be pure, are filled with excipients and or impurities.

I am interested in trying Shilajit based on comments in this thread. Does anyone have a suggested retailer or reliable brand? I am located in the USA.

I think Sol mentioned mountaindrop shilajit. However, there are other good brands. You just have to make sure buy it in in sticky format and not the powdered or treated form. Also use room temp water when dissolving it.

Most of the brands I'm familiar with are directly from Ukraine or Russia, except for Mountain Drop. These articles explore ways to distinguish high-quality Mumio/Shilajit products from inferior ones.

I noticed that taking Fenugreek along with Tongkat Ali (as you originally recommended) has a synergistic effect.AstuteShift wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 12:50 amDid not notice anything lolSOL wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 11:39 amAny update on this? I too am taking tongkat ali several times a week as per your recommendations quite awhile ago and the pecker is workin' better than evah.
Of course, I do a lot of different practices and take all sorts of supplements so there are confounding factors at play.
