I hope so! I'm sitting on a PILE of BRIGHT RED January 2023 long calls! Out of 24 positions in my hyper aggressive account, 14 are long calls expiring between August 2022 and January 2023! The BEST performing position in that account is an ETF that is only down 7% for me. That account is down 49.92% overall. I'd prefer it to be up 500% (or 5,000%)... Patience grasshopper...

My reasoning is the markets are at a turning point, what better reason than an earnings report to push VZ up. It doesn't even need to be all that positive just not significantly negative, I'm expecting a 10x bagger on this play. But alas yes I agree it's all speculation

Please learn from this. You assumed. Don't. My fear would be that you won, made out like a bandit and tried again, only with a bigger pot. Been there done that. Study more, study harder.

Budge is right, but the amount you risked was relatively small. If you can salvage anything, salvage it and move on. I also got smacked and kicked in the teeth many moons when I was sure X stock would do something and bought very short-term options; most of them did precisely the opposite, and then when my option expired, they surged upwards.

Haha if it surges upward next month that would be a bigger slap in the face, but I guess an occasional slap in the face is better than a bullet. It has helped wake me up and send a shiver down my spine.
