porphyry deposits

Post by stefk »

The biggest commercial mines in the world come from PORPHYRY DEPOSITS. We see these words in some investor presentations from some juniors mines. It is our interest to know what it is.

IPT.AX, they have in Apsley gold copper palladium platinum and rhodium. And we can buy the shares at 2c !!!!!!!

I was listening to the podcast "The Compound Show with Josh Brown" this morning. He had a guest who was explaining why he thought silver was a good investment (not withstanding the recent stupid attempt by Redditers to pump and dump). He mentioned silver and copper's industrial uses, and the increase in EVs and solar. The guest thought silver was undervalued and could go to $50 (it's at $27.03 now). My first thought was "Big deal... I can probably get 3 or 4 separate fifty percent returns on that same money with SOLs picks before silver doubles. The second interesting thing was when the guest said investing in silver miners, rather than silver itself provided leverage because if say their cost of production was $10/ounce and silver went from $20 to $30/ounce the mining operations were massively more profitable at the higher prices. Josh Brown pointed out that in reality what the mining companies tend to do is instead of banking that profit they run out and open a new mine, thus mitigating their upside profitability. I thought it was a key insight since the mining industry are such swashbucklers.

I see the appeal of both copper and silver. But I see it as high risk, slow growth compared to many of SOLs plays. And since I always have a fixed lot price (1/3 lot per SOls method), having a stock price of 2 cents only means I would buy a crap load of it.
Current atmospheric levels of CO2 (400ppm) are much lower than 500 million years ago (3000-9000ppm).

I much prefer having physical silver or gold than holding in these trusts (SLV or GLD). 10 percent holdings

If SOL gets a bullish signal off his indicators then I would go into the triple leverage ETFS for monster gains compared to the vanilla ETFs

The majors gold mines have got a problem. They need big discoveries but dont find them anymore, they need porphyry deposits.

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

https://stockhead.com.au/resources/expl ... ry-payday/

Porphyries deposits are the holy grail for the explorers. We can count them on the fingers of one hand. In the link above, they mention IPT and STM.

https://stockhead.com.au/resources/worl ... o-special/

“We drilled 40 holes into the bottom contact. Every single drillhole has come in with anomalous to reasonable grade PGEs,” he says.

“These aren’t economic grades, but there’s quite clearly millions of ounces of PGEs in the base of this intrusion.

“Now we need to find out where it has been concentrated.”

Impact is dialling in on the large, high grade ‘feeder zone’, Dr Jones says.

“There is so much smoke here. Finding it is a matter of time,” he says.

“We have demonstrated that the system is fertile enough, pregnant enough to have carried enough material to form a big deposit.”

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

IPT is a risky play, I take the risk, I bought 1 million shares.......

As well as his considerable experience in multiple scoping, feasibility studies and orebody definition of several globally significant copper-gold porphyry projects, he has been instrumental in managing the discovery holes in two world class copper-gold deposits – at Tujuh Bukit (Indonesia) and Cascabel (Ecuador).

This team only works on porphyry deposits projects.

STM.AX we can still buy this puppy at 1,3c per share !!!!!!!!

I dont focus on the negative stories, there are also positive stories in the exploration sector. but it is true that investing in junior mining is risky, maybe the most risky investment.

""The More You Know

Mining is one of the riskiest investments with many risks to consider at every stage.

Agreed that small mining companies are ultra high risk, high reward.

I prefer the royalty streaming model when it comes to minerals:

e.g. NOVR.VN for copper/nickel, and the PM ones like FNV, WPM, MTA, MMX; none of the risks associated with the actual mining companies, while still being leveraged to the underlying commodities;

*Disclaimer: I HODL and swing-trade all the above.

""Sunstone is targeting the discovery of a giant copper-gold porphyry depositoThe project is located in northern Ecuador, in the same regional belt as the giant Cascabel copper-gold deposit, and Llurimagua copper deposito3 historical diamond drill holes intersected porphyry copper-gold mineralisationoA ground magnetic survey is nearing completion, and a drilling rig will be mobilised to site in Q2"" ( El Palmar project)

In total, they have 7 porphyry projects !!!!!!!!

Another little puppy among the elephants

http://www.goldenrim.com.au/site/PDF/95 ... getinChile

"""Whilst the Loreto porphyry target has not previously been explored, the area has been on the radar of the major companies which tightly hold the area surrounding Paguanta. These majors, which include BHP, Anglo American, Glencore, Vale and Freeport, are all looking for another Collahausi-style copper deposit in the northern extension of the Eocene – Oligocene Porphyry Belt. Not surprisingly, Paguanta’s mining rights, particularly the Loreto target, have been over-pegged by the majors"""

These little australian juniors have great balls, interesting guys

Fortunately, I have accumulated a lot of STM, they have hit something interesting following a visual and manual first analysis. The market seems to appreciate it......
