After today....

Post by jonnyfrank »

....are we closer to the big correction or does the NASDAQ still have hope to blast off and provide the stimulus for a Santa Claus rally? Thoughts?

Good Question. Some others are saying, based on their indicators, that they are bullish for next year for energy, healthcare, and metals, ie., copper, gold, silver. Not so much for tech, though.

The Nasdaq is running out of time to make a decisive move. There is still time for the Nasdaq to reverse course. It is different from other indices; it can mount massive rallies over a short period. Will it do the same thing again? That remains to be seen. However, as a cautionary move, we are erring on the side of caution. In the next update, which will be sent out shortly, stops are being added, and exit targets on profitable positions are being lowered slightly.

The markets were in "climbing a wall of worry mode". Now some good news is seeping in, and they are pulling back. In the long term, this confirms that a second pullback is almost written in stone.

To truly fly high,
Like a Ninjedi,

Embrace your fears,
Peer through the tears ...

It's okay to cry,
As long as you keep hitting "buy" ...

Learn to choke on your own blood,
And the profits are sure to come, like a flood ...

Few will understand,
Now's the time to take a stand!

You can't be serious. Were you focusing only on speculative stocks. A lot of the TI plays came back to life, especially the lower risk one. KMB calls, Vale, VALE calls, BWXT, MOMO, CHPT, WTW, BIB, BHE,HALO, QCOM calls etc. I am still down but after the October bottom, I recouped a significant portion of the losses.

Open positions doing well SLV, ERO

My portfolio is also down too but I did close a number of positions profitably this year. In fact, I used some of the profits to take partial losses on those positions that I had over committed. Starting in 2021, I had stopped going into high risks positions marked with red. I only invest in the green ones. That had helped my portfolio as several high risk positions are the culprits in causing the highest losses.

I am also running 3 different strategies, TI, Brad Castro options selling and my own naked put selling. I started with options before stocks. Overall, if I had stuck to my own naked put selling and Brad Castro’s option strategies, I would be positive this year for sure.

Different strategies work and perform differently. I had stopped looking at each strategy individually but view them as a portfolio of strategies that reduces draw downs and increases profits. Sure. TI is not in a good position now. I don’t blame Sol. I’m in charge of my own investment decisions and my money is my responsibility. There will come a day where all those TI investments will make plenty of money and I’ll be glad I followed Sol’s advice.
