All eyes were on Target (TGT) as it plunged 15% in the premarket trade following a third-quarter earnings report that came in off by a wide margin and weak guidance for the holiday quarter.
The retailer was pressured by a slowdown in consumer spending on discretionary merchandise and said store looting reduced its gross profit margin by $400 million so far this year.

Re: The concept of the high road is over? The decline of the Empire
https://finance.yahoo.com/video/consume ... 06198.htmlA new survey out revealing how people are tipping during the time of economic uncertainty, of course, as they face sky high prices. This year, 43% of consumers are tipping servers 20% or more. This is according to the latest data from pop menu. And putting this in perspective, that's down from 56% a year ago. And Dave, also digging a little bit deeper into those numbers, it's not just in service, or in restaurant service. 32% of consumers typically tip delivery drivers 20% or more. That's down from 38% of consumers last year.
So not as big of a drop when you take into account the delivery drivers. But still, we're seeing people pull back on spending, obviously a sign of the times that we are in, and that they are facing higher prices in almost every aspect of their lives. I don't think these results come as a huge surprise.
Being forced to tip 20% for pick-up is beyond outrageous. When did the minimum move from 15 to 20 per cent. The forces are aligning up for a perfect storm. Share your experiences or your thoughts

I remember when 10% was normal, 15% for excellent service. Tipping is not typical in Russia, so anything, like keep the change (coins) is appreciated. The service reflects that in Russia, unless maybe you're a regular.

'Dare I use the word woke, the same applies in most of Asia. Tipping is voluntary and the same applies in most of South America
