Sprouted Wheat, and other Grains

Post by Jaz »

Hello,

I wanted to ask if anyone eats Sprouted Wheat, or other types of sprouted grains, such as Rye, Buckwheat?

I've never been convinced Wheat is inherently bad, but more to do with the refining process which destroys much of the nutrients, the preservatives and agents added (if the microbes don't like the preservatives, then what do the microbes in your gut make of it), and also the Wheat we consume today, may be too genetically dissimilar to what Humans ate in ancient times. Whether the latter has any weight is difficult to determine.

Also, it is now fashionable to be Gluten intolerant.

Sprouted Wheat is wheat which has been germinated, which means the Phytates have been broken down, and the nutrients are available to combine with the soil to grow. Therefore, consuming it means you digest more of the nutrients, and easier on the digestion process, too, in the same way soaking lentils for 12/24hrs before cooking.

I've been eating for a few days. It is not bloating like the Wheat you find in the supermarket, and I notice my sleep is much more deeper. Apparently, it contains large amounts of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter, which is also a precursor to HGH.

As for Taste, much sweeter than unsprouted wheat. The sprouting turns the starches into sugars. More protein dense, too.

When I refer to wheat being bad, It mostly refers to Wheat Flour. Almost anything sprouted is good. I once went diet of sprouted beans, buckwheat, rye and added only eggs and fresh raw milk (plus honey) to the regime. I did that for almost 6 weeks. While i felt very good, I did miss the taste of meat and wine, vodka, etc, so it takes extreme discipline to do something like this. Though I suspect 3 to 4 weeks is fine to detox.

Another good program to reduce inflammation dramatically is the rice diet. Here you eat absolutely no animal products at all and not even oils. So its rice with sugar or honey or dried fruits or some other veggies. You do this for 3 to 4 weeks.

It's like spring cleaning, and that is why some religions have fasting, or diet limitations. Like during Lent (at least in the old days) you would eat no animal protein and very basic and simple food. However, religions distorted the meaning of detoxing.

Even a super sport's car needs an oil change. In reality, you are kind of changing your oil. However, based on your diet I don't think you have elevated inflammation markers. If you want to really go into details. You could check inflammation levels via specific tests. Detox may be the wrong word, the better term would be to lower inflammation levels. So check inflammation levels and then compare those levels to a healthy 30 to 35-year-old.

Olives are fine but butter (which I love also) would be considered an animal protein and the idea is to place as little stress on your liver so it works in Super-efficient mode
