Freedom comes at price, if you refuse to pay it you lose it

Post by SOL »

A new social platform will emerge suddenly but before it does things will have to get worse. When things are good and keep getting better it is a sign that reverse is in the works. For things to get better things will have to worsen. These quotes illustrate why America has lost one of it's most valuable resources (Freedom to openly express oneself and new ideas that go against the popular opinion (this is a manufactured narrative)

Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither

He that’s secure is not safe. Benjamin Franklin
We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately. Benjamin Franklin

Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech. Benjamin Franklin

Do not fear mistakes. You will know failure. Continue to reach out. Benjamin Franklin

Distrust and caution are the parents of security. Benjamin Franklin

Where liberty is, there is my country. Benjamin Franklin

A brother may not be a friend, but a friend will always be a brother. Benjamin Franklin

Who is rich? He that rejoices in his portion. Benjamin Franklin

Each year one vicious habit discarded, in time might make the worst of us good. Benjamin Franklin

An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. Benjamin Franklin

Would you live with ease, do what you ought and not what you please. Benjamin Franklin

Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are. Benjamin Franklin

Freedom, in any case, is only possible by constantly struggling for it. Albert Einstein

He only earns his freedom and his life who takes them every day by storm. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

A man who believes in freedom will do anything under the sun to acquire, or preserve his freedom. Malcolm X

Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth. George Washington

The only real prison is fear, and the only real freedom is freedom from fear. Aung San Suu Kyi

No one outside ourselves can rule us inwardly. When we know this, we become free. Buddha

He who gives his freedom for safety gets none of them. Thomas Jefferson

Freedom (n.): To ask nothing. To expect nothing. To depend on nothing. Ayn Rand

For what avail the plough or sail, or land or life, if freedom fail? Ralph Waldo Emerson

Freedom is nothing else but a chance to be better. Albert Camus

Freedom is the will to be responsible to ourselves. Friedrich Nietzsche

I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death! Patrick Henry

I don’t care whether you’re a top Wall Street banker, if somebody has to tell you when to be at work, what to wear, and how to behave, you’re not a free person. Naval Ravikant

It's a pendulum. But right now I don't see how the US gets better ever. Every day brings a new outrage against freedom and freedom of speech. I'm flabbergasted at the cancel culture and can't figure out who is driving it (given any rational person you talk to thinks it's all ridiculous).

Tactical investor is the only thing that keeps me sane. I just keep thinking if I make enough inside my IRA then I can survive the onslaught of stupidity, higher taxes, and the bad economy that's bound to come. It's easy to smile if you're making awesome returns.
Current atmospheric levels of CO2 (400ppm) are much lower than 500 million years ago (3000-9000ppm).

Everything is being driven by social media and the majority especially the young, those under 30 have very malleable minds. I suspect you can't see what is driving the cancel culture because your friends and associates are probably individuals that have the ability to think critically. Critical thinking is dying and that's a big part of the problem

@TT

Think of the bright side, the masses will continue to be in misery due to them not seeing the real problem. Proper way to Rob someone is to get them emotional and the money will soon leave their pockets also.

In terms of cancel culture, it’s best not to part of any social media non sense since in general, it’s pretty useless. I don’t see the top astute players posting tweets or doing tik tok :D

Well, even if you just read the news you get cancel culture. Today I found out it's offensive for me to say I'm a "native Nevadan". I can't stand it any more.

The last nail in the coffin was hit today. The west will be in turmoil for at least 30 years, During that time things will go from bad to worse. If you think things are bad today, you will be shocked at how much worse they will be 24 to 48 months from today.

I will be making plans from next year to spend 30 days or less in the US.

Can you elaborate what the "last nail in the coffin" is?

Ditto. I try to avoid "news"; there's a couple podcasts I listen to religiously and that is the source of 95% of my "news" but I'm still on Wednesday.

Taxes and death

The ultra-rich will always find a way to sock it to the poor for they control the government
The wealthiest 400 American families paid an 8.2% average rate on federal income taxes from 2010 to 2018, according to an analysis released by the White House in September. The tax rate for the wealthiest families over that period fell below the average 13.3% tax rate paid by US families in 2018, the Tax Foundation found.

What was that nail?
Actually, multiple factors, two associates that I knew for a long time and that were brilliant, gave into the COVID vaccine fear tactics even though they are both in good health and are in the very low-risk group.

Bystanders watched a woman get raped in the subway and instead of helping her they filmed the event.
The rape of a woman aboard a Philadelphia subway witnessed by as many as 10 passengers, some of whom appeared to film the attack, could have been stopped quickly if one had called 911, police said on Tuesday.

The woman was raped shortly after 9 p.m. on Oct. 13 on a train run by Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), which provides public transportation in Philadelphia, SEPTA Transit Police Chief Thomas Nestel III said. "As many as 10 people actually saw some part of the attack on this rider," Nestel said on Philadelphia radio station WPHT.

Our Gnosis Panoptes index surged to a new high. The rage index surged to a new high and the new index we hope will be ready to launch soon, which we might call the degradation index also pushed to a new high.

There are other factors, but collectively these developments are too much to ignore. The trend has turned negative in the West and I for one don't intend to fight the trend. Otherwise, we will have to change the name or our slogan. We fought the trend and were forced to bend.

It's quite shcoking when you find yourself agreeing to some degree with a dictator. Looks like Sol's prediction that the countries run by tough men will gravitate towards freedom while the west gravitates towards facism is coming full circle

“Too many people started scaring us with the fifth package [of sanctions]. Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, you were instructed on this fifth package: we should not forgive them anything,” Lukashenko said, referring to the Belarus government leader.

“Poland is scaring us that it will close the border. Please, close: fewer fugitives will move there. The question is not that. I just listened to these scoundrels, who are actually headless. And if we close the transit through Belarus? It will not pass through Ukraine: the Russian border is closed there. There are no roads through the Baltic States. If we close it for Poles and, for example, for the Germans, what will happen then? We must not stop at nothing defending our sovereignty and independence," Lukashenko said.

He also noted that the transnational export gas pipeline Yamal - Europe runs through Belarus, and recently the volume of gas transit from Russia to the West has significantly increased.

“We are heating Europe and they still threaten us with closing the border. And what if we shut off natural gas there? I would therefore recommend that the leadership of Poland, Lithuania and other headless people think before speaking. But this is their business. If they are closing it, let them close it. The Foreign Ministry must warn everyone in Europe: if they impose additional sanctions on us, which are ‘indigestible’ and ‘unacceptable’ for us, we must answer," said Lukashenko.
In a statement published on Thursday by the press service of the President of the Republic of Belarus, the head of state alleged there are attempts to transfer weapons and ammunition to the camp of migrants in order to provoke a conflict.

Lukashenko said the Ministry of Defense, the KGB and the border troops need to ensure control over the movement of NATO and Polish troops.

"You can already see 15,000 military personnel, tanks, armored vehicles, helicopters and planes flew. They pulled up to our border, moreover, insolently, without warning anyone. Although under contracts they are obliged to do this," Lukashenko said.

"You must see them, and you must have plans of counteraction, God forbid that. We are not deploying our group of the Armed Forces, I did not give such instructions. But we must see. And foresee everything. So, if they create a war on the border there, and we turn out not to be ready for it, " stressed Lukashenko.

Lukashenko added that he had asked the Russian Ministry of Defense through the Russian President Vladimir Putin to join the watch on the borders of Belarus.

"As I noticed yesterday, they sent strategic bombers here, accompanied by our fighter jets. We must constantly monitor the situation at the border. Let them squeak and shout. Yes, these are bombers that are capable of carrying nuclear weapons. But we have no other choice here
