How not to be ignorant and Stupid
This video proves why overthinking leads to a negative outcome. This applies to the markets and in life and it also leads one to embrace faulty and or foolish narratives

This video by the same guy helps shed a lot of our false perceptions on population growth, poverty and the overall state of the world. He is quite an amazing chap. Thanks, Sol for making me aware of this guy

They published a book a few years ago "Factfulness". It is a very informative read.

"""A hopeful book about the potential for human progress when we work off facts rather than our inherent biases.'""" BARACK OBAMA
Yes, Barack, you are a great promoter of global warming. These leftists and their inherent biases. For example, how many times do we hear there are less and less polar bears because of "global warming". The facts say another story.

You can find tons of examples and facts to demonstrate these dumb leftists are wrong and idiots.....

Of course BO, being such a believer in warming/rising sea levels buys a $14.8m mansion/estate on the ocean at Martha's Vineyard variously noted at 3ft to 10ft above sea level. Almost makes one wish the sea level would rise (except I live on a barrier island in NC). Oh well, maybe some other force of nature will visit karma on him.stefk wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 8:12 am PDF available here: https://yespdf.co/book/605

Budge agreed but $15m is pocket change to O. He would just up and move and the state media wont say anything, social media will delete all posts because it will be defined as misinformation, Gore will redefine what climate change means and I am shocked you dont know thisBudge wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 10:59 amOf course BO, being such a believer in warming/rising sea levels buys a $14.8m mansion/estate on the ocean at Martha's Vineyard variously noted at 3ft to 10ft above sea level. First thing your president Biden did, was to sign the Paris agreement. I think, this one is the most stupid president of the US history.
https://youtu.be/9fRBdy-6nZ0
And also, two Oslo physicists demonstrate a CO2 increase from 0,04% to 100% leads to no observable warming.!!!!!!!!
https://www.scirp.org/pdf/acs_2020041718295959.pdf
And the majority of the brainwashed population thinks CO2 is a greenhouse gas, the greatest hoax of all times.
Biden is not more stupid than a chimp, a chimp is very intelligent, and it is a beautiful animal, I want to say, well lets say he is more stupid than the ass of a chimp, and all the politicians in Europe are like him.....

Re: How not to be ignorant and Stupid
From an investors standpoint the thing I got from this is we need to be less reluctant to invest in
Asia. Simply put that's where the population and wealth growth are going to be.
As for climate change, I can't believe how many people see the problem but not the solution. When you burn a log you are releasing trapped energy from the sun. The sun is responsible for growing wood, creating fossil fuels including coal, oil, and natural gas (ancient plants and animals squished into the earth). With only 2 minor exceptions all the ways of generating energy can be thought of as solar or "solar batteries". (the 2 exceptions are not important energy sources). The sun is responsible directly for energy captured using wind and solar panels.
The sun is a fusion reactor. Until we recognize that nuclear power (fusion and fission) are clean, carbon neutral, sustainable, AND allow for the kind of economic growth by producing vast power as he talks about in these videos we won't move forward. Fusion will not produce the waste that fission does and the reaction winks out if their is a problem, meaning it's very safe. Politicians who continue to brag about creating "green new jobs" fail to understand that the point of harnessing energy in the first place is to SAVE human labor. If you just want to create lots of "green new jobs" just replace all taxis in America with rickshaws. (We don't do that because it's obviously dumb.) It is ironic to me that environmental activists most concerned about climate change fail to recognize the answer to climate change is the development of robust fusion power (and possibly requires fission including breeder reactors in the short term).
If you google the list of "top 10 things you can do as an individual about climate change" the Libs mention not using planes, going vegetarian, and other things that aren't going to happen. But the 2 things they don't mention is "don't have children" (which creates a multiplier effect on resources) and "support nuclear".
Current atmospheric levels of CO2 (400ppm) are much lower than 500 million years ago (3000-9000ppm).

I am a non-breeder and proud of it. I have done more by that action alone (not for that reason mind you) than any green-freak could do. I halted my exponential carbon growth.Triplethought wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 7:56 pmFrom an investors standpoint the thing I got from this is we need to be less reluctant to invest in

You halted your exponential carbon growth, but the carbon is the main brick of life, so there is nothing to be proud of it. These green freaks have brainwashed a lot of people, dont use their arguments, CO2 IS NOT A GREENHOUSE GAZ. CO2 is the food for the plants.
With my wife we have made four kids and are proud of them,

Oops no offense. I was being sarcastic. I bust chops with people who push the climate mantra on me and talk about carbon foot print and shut them down when I tell them I did my part by not having kids. I wanted kids but it didnt pan out for us. I meant not to offend; foot in mouth.stefk wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 9:55 pm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon-based_life

Having kids is not an issue if you can afford to have them. But too many individuals that can't afford to have kids are having them and the result is misery for both the parents and kids and a larger resource foot print. Global warming to a large degree is a natural phenomenon, the argument that the governments push is pure rubbish. It's simple when governments push something they have a hidden agenda and its not to help the average Joe. For exampel the carbon tax or credit system is one massive scam.

Their was one movie called idiocracy by Comedy Central, talking about how usually the humans with low IQ reproduce far more than the ones with high IQ and the consequences of it. Seeing it now, it’s almost like a documentarySOL wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 7:58 am Having kids is not an issue if you can afford to have them. What I see, is most people want kids due to peer pressure or to fulfill their biological need to have them. That’s always a recipe for disaster to follow the herd.
Most people should strive to care for their self interest first or what makes them go then if they still have room for a family, go for it. Might be wrong on this premise but that’s my observation
