This market if it were a patient, I think the shrink would label it as a schizophrenic that likes to pop acid. However, if you look at the Chinese markets they took a massive beating and then viola stocks like PDD, MOMO, VIPS, etc mounted massive rallies. However, before this rally, there were many head fakes. The only way to win now is to deploy money in lots and focus on the longer-term trend as the short term is where the big players screw you. However, if one is nimble one can short but shorting is not for everyone. I have put the info up on cannonballing in the Trading ideas, strategies, and models section. I will soon start to post info on stocks that might look ripe for shorting and or ideas on how to spot shorting opportunities, but remember shorting is not for the faint of heart.
On a separate note one wise man once told me many moons ago, If you can't handle criticism that you don't deserve any praise.

Calculus and differential equations are really a pain. tough stuff. Then I decided to take advanced physics or man what a damn mistake that was. Calculating the angular momentum of an object is no easy task. Those were the days when you could feel your brain move, nowadays I think most would pass out after taking the first class.MarkD wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 3:24 pm Flunking trig based calculus was a wake up call. My advisor made an error. I managed him for the remainder of my tenure at the U. His mistake was telling me it was ok to take trig (not offered in HS) at the same time as Calc 1 for engineer/scientists. We were well into some complex mathematical relationships before trig prof got to them.
Aced trig, and secured a B in Calc 1 second time around (five day course, attended 2-3 days a week).
Advisor was annoyed with me until graduation. Winning.
How about proofs?

After 4.5 years at the U I was mentally spent. Felt sorry for Chemical Engineers as their fate was worse than anyone on campus.
My sister went on to Med School after having graduated in nursing. She complained the Engineering undergrad med school students never had to study, top 5 in her med school graduating class all had undergraduate degrees in engineering. Most of them were Chem E's.
