Since I train in the calisthenics park, I introduced the hanging in my training, because I realized it was my weak point. There is no hanging exercices in qigong, yoga and zurkhaneh. I am now in contact with the traceurs of ethnic french sport Parkour, they train in this park, and the hanging is a staple in this sport, like the muscle up, and the flag.
If you want more info on the hanging subject, Ido Portal is the world master in the move culture. He comes from the ethnic brazilian sport capoeira, but he integrated other ethnic sports in his system, and his system is now very original.

7 min of accumulated time in hanging everyday. A serious challenge.
For the shoulders health, combine hanging with push ups of persian ethnic sport zurkhaneh or indian ethnic kushti training ( 12 variations of push ups in the kushti training ) , with dravidian ethnic wooden clubbells. I garantee you will have strong and mobile shoulders.

Oui, I've been doing some of the Ido Portal stuff - I don't do 7 minutes, but I do about 5 minutes of accumulated hanging (passive, over a few sets) most days, with different grips. I usually do a bunch of different types of chin-ups as well, twice a week, depending on what kind of training cycle I am on - I have a chin-up bar at home.stefk wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 6:30 pm https://www.idoportal.com/blog/hanging/

Hanging and chin-ups are a little bit easier for medium-sized dudes like me.

I've also been doing a lot of different types of crawling for years (I've known about Ido Portal's natural movement stuff for a while - good complement to kettlebell training).
The guy in the below clip is also pretty good. He's got a lot of stuff on his YT channel - I like his crawling techniques:

The crawling really helped heal my back and maintained my strength and power in most of my other exercises, during the time of my recent back injury.

Problem with Ido Portal training, its elitist and very confidential, you dont find a course on internet, you have to go in Israel for some months to train with him. But you can find some interesting and inspiring footage with him.

Conor Mc gregor has dedicated his victories to Ido Portal.
At 30sec, very effective training with a stick. I do it alone, to train dynamically my qigong stances.

Here at 22sec, I recognize an effective footwork of zurkhaneh !!
