Well, it's best not to follow the Herd, isn't it? If there's a Canadian Herd jumping ship ... maybe best not to follow - in accordance with Mass Psychology principles?
Not to get too weird and "New Agey" on you, but I enjoy a certain degree of Cosmic Protection in Toronto. Comes at a heavy cost, and the cost looks set to grow much higher. I guess this will be put to the test in the months and years to come.
As it is, we have two available, temporary bases (inlaws) even now, and for the foreseeable future - one in Austria, and one in Romania. Given recent geopolitical events, both aren't great options, but they are options, nonetheless.
Viewed from a certain perspective, "Freedom" is really the power to choose one's perceptions.
Held down by chains with a bullet speeding towards his head, the FreeMan still has, in his last moments, the freedom and responsibility to choose his stance when facing his fate. This is the only Freedom that really matters, when all is said and done.
The herd is not jumping ship, the herd is staying grounded praying, hoping and begging for a better tomorrow.
The best death is the death that does not hurt, You just melt away into the next plane. Braveheart like all heroes was a fool and that is why he died young. All heroes usually die young and well before their time. He should have never trusted the snakes. You trust a snake or the wrong snake and you are asking to be bitten.
Life is meant to be lived. What is living, doing more than existing. Making a ton of money and just existing as is the case with most of the super-rich is just as good as being poor and hoping for a better tomorrow. Both are lost. One has a better tomorrow but does nothing with it, one wishes for a better tomorrow but does nothing to get it.
Drawing your last breadth in front of one of these views would be a far more fitting way to move to the next dimension, then screaming a moronic phrase like freedom while getting gutted like a fish

If braveheart wanted freedom he would not have been screaming it he would have been living it
