Global Economics

Post by LoriPrecisely »

This on the Schwab site today: "Important Update Regarding Trading Russian Securities: Due to liquidity issues stemming from regulatory trading halts and restrictions placed by Schwab's clearing agents on Russian securities, including those not directly named by recent government sanctions, neither buy nor sell orders on Russian securities are able to be accepted at this time. Additionally, restrictions on Russian securities may impact mutual fund and ETF trading and settlement. This is a rapidly evolving situation and Schwab will continue to provide updates here as developments occur."

In other words, we will open up these markets after we get everything for next to nothing and then sell it to the masses for an arm and leg, They used this same ploy during the housing crisis. Nobody could buy those cheap houses for next to nothing except the big players.

Well, the Russian markets (closed since the UA thing) opened yesterday for four hours. Guess the big players got their fill. Thinking about getting in myself, maybe Gazprom, Sberbank, Nornickel; any thoughts opinions welcome!

BossNinja, hope your incubating a new newsletter for the Russian market, since the dollars downfall is coming in 15-21 months!

It's something to ponder but I suspect there will be many avenues for Russian stocks. All those stocks you mentioned are great buys, If I could get into them easily I would nibble continuously at them. I don't think most in the West can purchase Russian stocks

This video shows how it is safer to say what you want to say in many countries outside America where freedom of speech is pushed but is almost non-existent today. More importantly, it illustrates one simple concept, If a nation does not defend its people, it is doomed.

I managed to buy some RSX during the initial phases of the Russian Peacekeeping Mission, but the position has been frozen since - can't buy more, can't sell. It'll be interesting what price RSX will be trading when it re-opens to retail investors ...

LON:JRS is up 47% over the last 5 days.

Mere mortals locked out for the last couple of weeks on all platforms, but it is clearly still trading.

I don't know how you would value it at this stage.

Did you see the reaction at 7:00 in the first video of the guy on the screen with Biden, when Biden said, "all the totalitarian regimes in the world"? Priceless!! It is what all sane people are doing right now. SkyNews Australia says, "Biden's cognitive decline is Too Much". And, now a CIA agent says he is responsible for Trump losing because he lied about Hunter's laptop. Very interesting times we are living in. I am very hopeful the good guys will win. Also, interesting to note, Trump is still doing his rallies. I am volunteering at one near my house this weekend. The 3 books about Baron Trump written by Ingersoll Lockwood are on my reading list now. Don't get me wrong, I don't think of Trump as our savior, but I do believe he is on the side of good.
