Re: Fills
hey guys, froggo here, am new to TI, haven't introduced myself but have been reading up on all the materials and am mapping out my action plan now... so thought I'd dive straight into the forum with my very first newb question!
Have question on the deploy stages re the 4 lots. Understood with new play we follow it every update, and understood every update we follow it one lot at a time, and potentially play out the 4 lots if all goes well.
However, if it's stock in play, am wondering how many lots do I budget for and play in, what deploy stage do I partake in? Let's use AMD for example in the latest March 9 2022 update:
With this AMD, back when it was a new play (I couldn't find where it started) it was trending upwards and hence was deployed accordingly, and now it's in 3rd deployment now:

However, if it's stock in play, am wondering how many lots do I budget for and play in, what deploy stage do I partake in? Let's use AMD for example in the latest March 9 2022 update:
"Market Update 9/3/22 ---
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) Updated
Fills for the 2 nd lot were reported in the 105 to 111 ranges, for an average entry price of 108.00. Our
average entry price drops from 114 to 111.00. Some fills for the third lot were reported in the 100 to 101
ranges. However, we will wait until the next update before determining the average entry price. In the
interim, maintain orders to purchase the next ΒΌ in the 99 to 101 ranges."
With this AMD, back when it was a new play (I couldn't find where it started) it was trending upwards and hence was deployed accordingly, and now it's in 3rd deployment now:
- Would I enter per latest deploy (99,101) as 3rd deployment (i.e. I'd only get to play 2 lots with 3rd and 4th deployment stage) and follow with the team.
- Or because the price has fallen (meaning better to buy in, lucky for this instance i don't have to buy in at the higher deploy prices) do I assume it as full play to date - and deploy out 3 lots of (99,101) to catch up with the team, and if so would i simply buy on the 3 lots in one go?

Re: Fills
I'd go with 3 lots in one go in that situation
be sure about your lot sizes first

and Froggo - I know I've been violating this rule a lot lately but it'd be nice if we all ask those questions in one of the other threads.
"FILLS" in theory should be just a bunch of "bought XXX fo $YYY" or "Sold XXX for YYY". maybe with a small comment about why for clarity. The idea is this thread helps us keep track of what others have done & whats come in range in case we miss one.
Current atmospheric levels of CO2 (400ppm) are much lower than 500 million years ago (3000-9000ppm).

Always aim to do the opposite of what YoungAnakin tells you ... you will be at least 88.8% profitable, 66.6% of the time.

Knowledge of trading would have been of no use in a case like this because it is so unusual. Free and fair markets are not free and fair. Here's more on the shitty behavior of LME from Karl Denninger:RogueKoiFish wrote: βTue Mar 08, 2022 3:29 pm
Just saw they London Metals Exchange halted trades on Nickel metals because it doubled overnight and Russia is a major producer of it.
Wish I knew enough on world trading interdependence to get ahead of some of these bans to make a profit.
"LME, the London Metals Exchange on which these contracts trade, used to be owned by its members -- until 2012 when it was sold for 1.4 billion pounds to Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing. And..... Russia is one of the major nickel producers."
"There are rumors flying around that the reason for the squeeze was that someone was massively short the metal contract in China and got monkey-hammered by the squeeze. LME shut down trading in response."
"Why didn't the UK regulatory apparatus force the shutdown before that happened? Further, having taken this action LME has stolen the profits of the people who bet correctly on the spike higher and bailed out the losers who were short with the winner's money! Irrespective of whatever sort of "contractual right" LME might have had to do this why would you ever trust them again if you were on the winning side of that and had your money stolen to bail out the tycoon who blew himself up?"
"Who's actually paying who, how are they being paid, and why is it that every time something like this happens the person who did the stupid thing, but is very wealthy and powerful, manages to steal back what they lost through their own stupidity and we, the people, continue to let it happen?"

Re: Fills
TLT, next lot, filled @ 132.26;
VZ, virgin lot, GTC filled @ 52.50;
TQQQ, next lot, filled @ 41.28;
FIVN, next lot, GTC filled @ 83;
URA, virgin lot, filled @ 23.99;
*****
Question for the TIT, as well as nicolas, stefk, and budge:
Any preference for URA vs. URNM?
URA has been around longer (better charts), lower MER, but also lower dividend, vs. URNM.
URNM is being taken over by Sprott (good thing? They have their share of enemies in the space).
Of course, the constituents of the ETFs are a bit different, e.g. URNM has more SRUUF, KAP, less CCJ, etc.
I hold both, although currently a lot more URNM.

Re: Fills
My current GTC is for URA at $20. I feel sentiment is still against nuclear. But if I wait much longer I may miss the inevitable ride up.Yodean wrote: βMon Mar 14, 2022 5:13 pm TLT, next lot, filled @ 132.26;
