With that backdrop I bought some Sberbank before trading was halted (small amount with gambling money). One lot at 1.2 and one lot at .6. Now I wait.
Who knows, very high risk high reward. I can't help buy when everyone is selling especially when the mass mindset is based off of coordinated media messaging, it is part of my DNA
RSX has some Sberbank. Another 17%+ decline atm, >21% yield, for RSX.
The early bird may get the worm, but the worm may be poisoned. The late bird may feed off the carcass of the former, and escape before the bullets come raining down from the planes of the North Atlantic Terror Organization (NATO), flying above.
Think I will start RAAPing tomorrow ... or next week.
Buy Fear, Sell Euphoria. The Neonatal Calf undergoes an agonizing birthing, while the Bear falls into hibernation.
Yeh, quite chaotic out there. I did end up purchasing 3 lots of RSX @ under $6 USD. Ready to deploy more over the next several trading days - it'll be more of a strategic allocation, as opposed to a tactical one.
Also, my man Rick Rule bought a lot of specific Russian companies yesterday, for the long haul (he says about 33% of what he plans to deploy into Russian natural resource-type assets over the next little while) - he's also ready to deploy the rest in the event of another 30% to 50% drawdown.
Another "conspiracy" theory circulating, which may have some credence, is that trading in Russian assets was halted in several places in order to allow the PTBs to accumulate at really low prices.

No, not at all. You see, it's to protect the retail investor from excessive volatility
Yes it's the same old ploy, but something is different this time. In the long run, the US just made a major blunder by Locking Russia out of SWIF while nothing was done to them for committing some of the worst crimes in the past 50 years, they just showed the Chinese and all the leaders of tomorrow that the US can't be trusted. A new system to compete with SWIFT is going to rise quite rapidly.
If you are it for the long then owning Russian securities should be a good move.
When the words short term appear under any post; the same conditions listed in the Market update under the short term category apply
The end is always near; its the beginning and how you live each moment that counts the most
I am building a small list of Russian stocks I will get into. First I am waiting for the RSX to move a bit deeper into the oversold ranges before jumping in
