I'll preface by stating I live in a small town, a different Russia than Moscow. That said, nobody I know here seems concerned about Ukraine. Seems to me Putin is playing chess, and the west thinks its a poker game. To wit, Crimea.

De-facto, the annexation of Crimea has now been accepted by the EU and US. It's never mentioned in any of the discussions, as far as I can tell. No one discusses returning the grey zone back to Ukraine and demanding that Russia stop all support for separatists in the area. In effect, the status quo has been accepted in these two areas and the west is focused on Russia's demands; Putin's narrative.

I don't think there are 100-150 thousand troops massed on the border, just the equipment to support that many troops. Putin does not have some kind of deadline, or political pressure to end this agenda.

Unrealistic to think Putin will get what he is demanding. Anybodies guess what he really is after. I think some kind of neutralization of Ukraine, like "Finlandization".

The age of eroticism and 69 made me laugh, as the number 69 itself has a sexual connotation. However, 69 might be the erotic age if the guy took care of himself well like you and Vlad or the people in Ikaria or Vilcabamba in Ecuador, but for most, it is the age of barely being able to move due to the huge potbelly they have to deal with and or being afflicted with a host of medical conditions.
