Nah ... my understanding is that the true OG Kung-Fu Masters started everyone off with a white belt. Then the white belt would slowly get dirtier and dirtier over time with continued practice and use, even with frequent washings.

So the "Black" belt really represented thousands upon thousands of hours of practice. Every other colour between white and black was meaningless.

Everything has a cycle. They can't be a cycle where the same group of PTB's win. Another group will be given that prize. Most likely AI will favour critical thinkers. You raise a fascinating point bpcw. This is obviously well before your time but there was a form of ta that involved the big plonker and the spray derived therefrom. This form of ta was very short lived and preceded monkeys throwing darts at lists of stocks. The plonk spray failed initially as the lists were hung on the wall, but no one could get it far enough or high enough and umbrellas and wellies were de rigueur. (As a side note, some think this the derivation of the boys' game, "I can piss up the wall higher than you can!" This is incorrect as hieroglyphs in Eygyptian tombs clearly show males urinating up the wall.)

After trial and error, it was decided to put the lists on the floor. Didn't work either. The technology existed to produce waterproof pages, but the cost was prohibitively expensive. And I don't know if you've tried peeing on Value Line type paper, great for making paper mache but that's all. So, then some guy called Scopes experimented with monkeys and darts. Not sure about your assumptions with AI. The evolution of AI takes human input, the complexity of what can be achieved maybe increasesing dramatically but still requires human input to guide it's path. For AI to think 'why should I' would involve self awareness/consciousness, that requires more than computer processing power, an actual soul of some sort. The only way I can think of AI getting to this level of reasoning is if it merges with a human mind or spiritual entity, perhaps the demonic, scary thought.
