HOLY COW. did you see that you become a Turkish citizen if you buy property worth $250K? I wonder if there are legal problems as with other countries. If you had a trustworthy management company having a rental makes sense. https://www.propertyturkey.com/property ... -programme
You can become a citizen in various countries with investments ranging from 100K to 1 million. Portugal offers a route for 350K EURO. However, Turkey, Barbados and Vanuatu are quite fast.
Turkey has been offering this path for quite some time and you can get it very quickly. Though I would opt for Vanuatu as it opens up the whole of the EU visa-free and costs about 130K. In Turkey, you can buy property without being a Citizen. Depending on what Angle you look at almost everything is a scam. You don't own your home in the US, the taxes on the house keep rising and in some parts of the country they are so high that it's almost like a second rent, so the dream they sell you is half a dream. I could list endless examples but I will stop there.
Nothing ventured Nothing gained or more aptly no risk no gain. Or the modern though tackier in nature is the saying No money no honey

That's an interesting approach Sol. With considerable amounts of cash on hand one would have to be not only patient but confident that the patience would pay off. It looks as if next year might be one such opportunity.
Mohammed has to go to the mountain only because he was not patient enough for the mountain to come crashing down to him.
Another way of looking at it is to understand that when you have mastered the art of patience and discipline and not just pretend to like 90% of the individuals that claim to have mastered it, you know when to move hard and fast and when to hit the pause button and when to take small bites. It's like a good mechanic, but just listening to the engine he can tell what ails the car.

Might be obvious but note that there is a difference between residency & citizenship. The EU ones tend to be residency (but you can usually apply for citizenship after some years).
Part of the Update will be sent out within the next 24-36hrs, more likely within 24 hours. We are tabulating the next batch of sentiment data and updating the Idiots index. What stands out is that neutral readings might surge past 41. If this occurs it's a positive development for when neutral readings rise, it means the prevalent emotion is uncertainty and uncertainty is at least 2X a surge in bearish readings for it means both the bulls and the bears are confused. So the forces calling for a surge into next year are gathering traction.
