Merck's new 'not Ivermectin' Covid-19 treatment, molnupiravir, costs $17.74 to produce - yet the company is charging the US government $712 for the treatment - a 40x markup, according to The Intercept, citing a report issued last week by the Harvard School of Public Health and King’s College Hospital in London.

The pill, originally developed using US government funds as a possible treatment for Venezuelan equine encephalitis, cut the risk of hospitalization and death in half in a randomized trial of 775 adults with mild/moderate Covid who were considered at high risk for disease due to comorbidities such as obesity, diabetes and heart disease. The trial was stopped early so the company could apply for and emergency use authorization (EUA). The drug did not benefit patients who were already hospitalized with severe disease.

Finland has become the latest Nordic nation to pause use of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine in young people due to fears that the shots are causing rare heart inflammation.

The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare said on Thursday that authorities won't give the vaccine to males under age 30, and they will be offered the Pfizer-BioNTech immunization instead.

The government agency said it found that young men and boys were at a slightly higher risk of developing myocarditis.

It comes after health officials in Sweden and Denmark made a similar decision earlier this week.

All three countries based their decision on an unpublished study with Sweden’s Public Health Agency saying that it signals "an increased risk of side effects such as inflammation of the heart muscle or the pericardium” — the double-walled sac containing the heart and the roots of the main vessels. It added: “The risk of being affected is very small.”

Anders Tegnell, Sweden’s chief epidemiologist, said they “follow the situation closely and act quickly to ensure that vaccinations against COVID-19 are always as safe as possible and at the same time provide effective protection” against the disease.

The preliminary information from the Nordic study has been sent to the European Medicines Agency’s adverse reaction committee to be assessed.

This article is interesting, it rightly exposes the claim of just 1.2% of people dying being vaccinated because the data used was when only around 1% of people had been vaccinated! However, the article itself is misleading in claiming that 77% of people dying now in the uk are vaccinated, because the large majority of people, especially the vulnerable have been vaccinated leaving a small minority that haven't, so this isn't unusual at all, in fact the tables show that deaths per 100k are much higher for unvaccinated people which is the important figure.

Just showing this so we have balance in the discussion, this isn't helpful for arguing alternative treatments to vaccines.

Disagree...20 percent of kids could die within 14 days of the shot and Facebook, Google, Twitter would permanently ban anyone that posts any number higher than the regime approved narrative of 0.2% (twice the number of child deaths with COVID but nobody will notice). At least 80 percent of parents that jabbed their kids will be grateful they could sacrifice their child(ren) "to save so many other lives" and they will all believe they were the parents of the 1-in-500.

My wife said she almost vomited at the huge line of parents herding their kids into the slaughterhouse this morning.
