You mean hookah? Super popular but I do not do it really since it’s harsh on the lungs lol

For relaxation?
Yoga or just walking around a park. Listening to jazz, deep house is also a great past time of mine.

Another is watching old comedy, laughter is indeed the best medicine

I am back from my daily calm walk with my dogs, just before the sunset. I like to see my dogs running free in the fields and woods, its my relax moment of the day, alone in the nature with my dogs. The nature is so generous with us, its relaxing to observe it.......

One of the things I do to relax weather permitting and depending on where I am is to try to walk 5 plus Km a day in the evening. Besides swimming and stretching (which would include yoga, chi-gong, etc) It is one of the best ways to exercise without producing too many stressor hormones.

My grandfather smoked 76 cigarettes per day, started at 13, but he made his own cigarettes. He used natural tobacco. No issues and he lived to 93 and in his own place. George Burns also smoked a cigar or two day and lived to 100. As for Nargila, one trick is to use a charcoal filter, it removes most of the so-called bad stuff. I am not promoting this as I said it is one of the very few bad vices I have lol. Several wise men and women all who lived to or past their 90's said it was a good thing to have at least one vice, but one that you could control if necessary.

A lot of the people of Ikaria, a place where 1 in 3 individuals lives to past 90, smoke quite a bit. Very interesting info which continues to prove that keeping stress and stressor hormones low is the key to a longer life

Well Sol, if you have good healthy lungs, no matter with the weather. I practice my daily walk everyday of the year, it can be sunny, rainy or snowy, I go. If I am lazy one evening, my dogs are there to oblige me. And I forgot one thing, during my walk, I practice at the same time a pranayama session. A full breathing session, I inhale by the nose, I fill first the belly side, then the pectoral side, little retention (not too much, be careful for the heart), and I exhale slowly by the nose, exhale time can be twice the inhale time. If you are not trained, begin with five full breathings, then walk normally during 200 meters, or more or less, its up to you, then begin another pranayama session of five breathings. If trained, you can do 50 or 100 breathings in one time. I practice it when the path is flat or descending and I rest when the path is rising. Its very powerful, all your cells are oxyginated. Of course I dont know the air quality of NewYork, maybe in central park.....

I don’t mind celebratory toasts of old fashioned vodka or whiskey, however I keep them only for events where I accomplished big lol

My grandfather lived until he was 75, had toasts often but died in his sleep. Good way to go out of this world lol

I have had the good fortune of knowing many people that lived past 90 and you know the common theme among them was to live every day like it was your last. So if I have to deny myself certain pleasures to Iive longer i am opt for less time and more fun. short and simple. You came in with a bang go out with a bang lol

I also love good vodka and have started to develop a taste of Soju and Japanese plum wine

SOL you appear to be a person that is content to do things your way. Kudos to you. In general I find it hard to argue with your take on life

Two random questions

What do you think about Cathie woods?

What is your take on the concept of your significant other?

Others are welcome to chime in. I am almost sure you will provide a cryptic out of the box reply

@SOL

That’s what Balkans do best! At least the ones who are not radicalized.

Cathie Woods is a sales women, imho a wolf in sheep’s clothing and so far has the masses attention but has ridiculous targets that make you wonder what she is smoking?

Calling for your significant other means you’re insignificant. Relationships should be strategic and not based on attachments such as Disney love or lust. However that concept has been lost and distorted

I don't think about Cathie woods. Waste of my time

As for my significant other. I have none. I am the only significant person. However, process what I said from the 4th level. Astute seems to get the point. I will expand later

Sol actually wrote a lot about this topic in the A.I.T.T. forum. Very amusing and unfortunately (I say unfortunately because I generally exist to disagree  ), I agree with 96% of what he wrote there on this subject.

The A.I.T.T. forum is reason enough to subscribe, even if you don't participate in any of the plays.

First thing in the morning I get a fruit tea and read a bit of the Bible and have a quiet time/pray. I go for walks, have a dog so walk him round a local park quite a lot! I meet people for tea/coffee and a chat. Watch a bit of TV in the evening or chat with the wife. Read mainly Christian non fiction books. Drink some wine on a weekend and watch a bit of TV. Went fishing this morning at a local river for the first time this year with a friend, just a couple of hours, nothing biting so packed up and went for breakfast at a local café. I manage to do all this whilst running my small lifestyle business!

All pretty simple stuff really, but I appreciate the simple things! :)

This weekend I discovered the boat I wanted to take out on the Sacramento Delta (that I haven't put in the water all summer) had 2 leaking tilt/trim cylinders due to water having gotten in the tilt hydraulic fluid and freezing last winter. So I ordered 2 Mercruiser hydraulic rams (backordered weeks as it seems everything is) and the fiancé and I threw the e-bikes in the back of the truck and headed to Ruby mountains to get out of the smoke around here. As luck would have it the road to the trailhead had been blocked by mud and was closed to vehicle traffic. We pulled out the e-bikes, smiled and went on up the mountain. We ended up hiking to a series of beautiful alpine lakes and skinny dipping (very cold) because not a single other sole made it into the back country.

Add to that 2 very good meals in the nearest town and it made the perfect weekend.

One interesting note is the cable locking the bikes in the back of the truck was cut yesterday morning but bikes still there. I have no idea if the thieves noticed we had taken the batteries into the hotel room (an e-bike without a battery is pretty useless) or if the bungee cords I had strapped them in with prevented them from easily lifting the bikes out. Either way we dodged a bullet.

I assume the Cathie Woods question was motivated by today's big CNN write up. Sol's previous comments convinced me she is taking too much risk and I ended up selling my ARK stuff (at a small loss). A person could just "copy cat" her holdings - which is I guess what a lot of people do. I think the idea of investing in robotics and genomics is good but it's easy to be too early to the party. and essentially AI and robotics are the same class of stocks (arguably identical)

I await the explanation for "significant other".
