Interim Update Sept 2, 2021

Post by SOL »

It's almost incredible to unreal that a pattern is taking shape on the weekly charts that suggest the Dow could trade to the 36000 to 36,500 with an overshoot to 37,000 before It experiences a strong correction. So we might have a 5% or so correction than a rocket rebound to the above ranges. if this comes to pass it would crucify the bears and the many bulls that are sitting on the sidelines waiting for a huge correction.

We also stated in the last update that another pattern is taking shape that suggests the correction could occur in two stages. A minor one in September to Oct timelines and then a stronger one sometime early next year. If this comes to pass then a strong January correction will most likely lead to a multimonth top in the markets. It will take the markets several months to break past resistance but this could prove to be a fantastic buying opportunity especially as far as AI stocks are concerned

I've been moseying towards the doors for the same reason. collecting cash on more profitable positions and keeping an eye out for overbought stocks.
Current atmospheric levels of CO2 (400ppm) are much lower than 500 million years ago (3000-9000ppm).

The stock market only works for the patient guys. Patience is a very rare quality, an oldschool quality, nowadays everybody wants everythig immediately.

You understand the principle of long term investing well and you are one of our oldest subscribers not in terms of age but in terms of how long you have been with us. It is funny Belgium is a small country but two of our oldest investors hail from there. I hope things stabilise so that you are not forced into thinking of moving. Your knowledge on health is second to none.

My only regret was I wished I joined TI in 2007! When I researched the FED reserve and their madness. However, it’s never too late!

Exactly, investing should be fun and it can only be fun if you don't worry about the daily movements and focus on the long term trends. When opportunity knocks a person that is patient and disciplined can move very fast. There is so much uncertainty in the markets, that the masses assume it means hell, when in fact it means HELLO as in getting ready to jump into the right plays. Life is what you make of it, most make it hell because they let worry cloud their analysis

Well, my mother language is french but the side of my father is flemish from Antwerp. I dont know if the other belgian is flemish or not, but the people from Antwerp like investment, like the stock market. When I was kid, I remember my grandmother had always on her table paper stock shares, We dont see these paper shares anymore, all is digital now. And I always saw my father with financial journals, he had three or four or five different abonments. Only to say that investment is like a tradition by us. And I like TI abonment, its more intersting and more efficient than another financial journal.

For the little story, Antwerp and the first stock exchange building in the history

I will have to ask him if he speaks Flemish but he is also a very cool chap and a patient investor. He also happens to be very good at making videos and won some awards for doing so. I will find out which part of Belgium he lives in. Maybe one day you guys can have a tactical meet up lol. I hope you are sharing this knowledge you have on health and investing with your kids because you have accused a lot of knowledge since we first spoke many moons ago.

@stefk: it's really a small world . . . I actually have an acquaintance that currently works in Antwerp, named Thomas Botelberge:

https://be.linkedin.com/in/thomas-botelberge-79498410

He came to Toronto, Canada and trained with me for one year in 2005 in an Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Program based at Saint Michael's Hospital. Funny guy.

Our main mentor retired last year, at the age of 83, and a bunch of his former Fellows (his particular program is world-renowned, so he has former Fellows from around the world dating back thirty-five years or so) put together a short YT video to congratulate him:

https://youtu.be/h84bvCahX5k?t=366

Botelberge's clip is around the 6-minute mark. Mine is around the 9-minute mark (bad clip for me personally, as I was late in submitting, so only one quick take, no preparation at all, & I had a bit of a small neck injury from training the day before  ).

Getting back to Botelberge - a few of us were discussing cv19 in Q2 in 2020 on WhatsApp. Thomas had this to say about contracting cv19: "If you f*ck enough, you should be okay." I told him that should work for almost every illness.

Anyways, you are over sixty, so you or a family member may need a colonoscopy or G.I. procedure at some point. Thomas Botelberge is a good gastroenterologist. His father was also a gastroenterologist, apparently - and locally quite famous in Antwerp, at least according to Thomas.

I suspect that stefk will easily make it to 90 without colonoscopies, etc . He seems to be quite disciplined in and out of the markets. A very knowledgeable individual indeed.

My main goal with all my different types of training (physical, mental, Breathwork, cold showers, intermittent fasting, etc.), taking supplements, and eating fairly "clean" 70% of the time is to simply feel good and maximize my ability to enjoy life in each moment, no matter what the circumstances. This I consider the Ultimate Divine Skill (UDS).

My other goal with respect to the above is to die 3.33 hours before my wife does. That way, she won't have to go through with handling all the funeral stuff.

more data supporting a minor correction first before a bigger one

We aren't talking about the reiteration of a decade-long Nouriel "Dr. Doom" Roubini type call for a stock market crash due to the always easy excessive valuation and bloated government debt arguments (the S&P 500 is up 506% since March 1, 2009). Instead, we are referencing stock market correction calls of at least 10% by some of the brightest minds on Wall Street, whose work I really respect.

“You should always be expecting a 10% correction. If you’re investing in equities, you should be prepared for that at any time,” Morgan Stanley's Chief Investment Officer Mike Wilson told Yahoo Finance Live. “The bottom line for us... is the risk reward is not particularly great at the index level from here, no matter what the outcome is. That’s why we don’t have any upside to the S&P for the rest of the year.”

Deutsche Bank strategist Binky Chadha also recently cautioned on the chance for a near-term correction in markets. Bank of America's Savita Subramanian has also issued a warning on the market of her own. I would even read Ark Invest's Cathie Wood recent selling of Tesla's stock as a red flag on high multiple stocks.

For one, peek under the hood of the market and you will see evidence of a rolling correction (as Wilson likes to refer to it as) that could soon bubble up to the headline-grabbing major indices. About 90% of Russell 2000 stocks have already fallen into a correction, as Bloomberg notes. Morgan Stanley's work reveals that the average stock in the S&P 500 is down 10% from its 52-week high. Outflows from cyclical stocks since June 15 have tallied $15 billion, according to a recent Jefferies note.

According to recent trading updates, Ark Invest's Wood has been selling shares of Tesla in her Ark Innovation, Ark Next Generation Internet and Ark Autonomous Tech & Robotics ETFs. The 180,000 shares sold by Wood amount to $139 million, per Bloomberg. Tesla's stock is up 21% in the past three months, hence it's not a shock to see Wood selling a bit of her most high-profile position. Wood recently told Yahoo Finance Live that she sees fair value for Tesla at $3,000 a share (Tesla shares are currently trading at $736), so I wouldn't expect her to completely exit the name that put her on the map anytime soon (if at all). Wood continues to view Tesla as years ahead of others in the globally expanding EV market.

Everyone is expecting a big one, and therefore may be the big one will be delayed until no one is expecting it. Let's see how this unfolds but the bullish sentiment is not rising as it should, what we see rising are levels of uncertainty
