Re: Fills that flopped

So what have we learned from TrippleThoughts sad face which most of us probably had some put - ons over the last week (not put options)? Sol already has said never ever over invest in one day - very good advice from what ive seen in my red colors on my purchases in last 7 trading days (not counting today) but is there anything wrong say over 4-5 consecutive days or other pacing? Did he mean only one per day or some other small increment?

Now im thinking - what do we take away in regard to the stocks that fell 2 to 5 times the rate that the market fell keeping in mind the climb back can be difficult and long. Are they a weaker crew than the ones that fell at the market rate or just slightly more than the market rate fall? Do we have to be concerned about these guys going forward and consider cutting some losses here? What do u think on these several questions and keeping in mind that the total market only dropped a pittance at a few % points.

Some of you folks seem to be worrying about a short term setback in the prices of the plays.
I, like probably many others here, am in the red right now on some of the plays, but the idea is to get in at a good price, not bottom fish.
We are investors, not day traders. We are going through somewhat of a correction phase right now. Be patient and trust in the TI team’s
expertise and track record. When things start moving back up again (and they will) those with patience will be rewarded.

In Sol we trust! :mrgreen:

this is nothing compared to the covid crash

The key to the TI method is patience and discipline

Patience is holding and not looking at your portfolio everyday

Discipline is only risking a certain amount per each play with military precision

Is my portfolio down? Most certainly, however I’m ok with a few losing battles but overall win the war

If you get emotional then find out why? Investing and trading is a jungle and only the strongest survive

Day traders are finding nemos, most will never find big money but rather losses and pain
Traditional investors are old donkeys, unable to adapt and are better off drinking beer

Trend players are the strongest, the lions, due to just following the trend, no matter what. It’s really that simple, no emotion to it

5/17/21 Bought AIN at $78

"Those that have no position can aim for $81". I have no idea why this thing executed. Some big player must have been selling... my yahoo chart shows a severe dip to 77.80 this morning but it recovered quickly.

Addendum to my message of 0521: at the back of my mind in presenting that, - if my memory is correct, Sol commented somewhere that we have to differentiate those stocks that were slow to recover from covid and those that were quick to recover -- in what regard for sure i cannot remember - and that was behind the my original message. Do U remember the full comment? So is there a similar relationship here in a or almost mini correction which we have had in at last 8 days or so ? I do not see much, if any, bounce in the lossing stocks a couple i the 15-17% range, i bought too early in the downturn (lesson learned not to buy more that 1/day on a particular downturn as per Sol) as we never know bottom).

As an aside i see Ti has a new email to report "all trades" - left wondering if that meant all the types they wanted from before which was mainly options or now it means absolutely every trade? tua

From April 30th MU:

GBTC:

1st lot: 42.30 to 44.30;

2nd lot: 36.00 to 39.00;

I've been loading up a bit on my crypto. holdings this past week, so too many fills to report. As always, playing with cryptos is akin to playing with hellfire in the Wild West.

You're either buying when there is blood in the streets, or catching poisoned, falling daggers. Maybe a bit of both, depending on time frame.

To my eyes, we've hit some support in BTC in the 40k to 44k range. Strong secondary support lies in the 30.3k to 33.3k range (for me, back up the truck and load up zone).

May the Force be with you.

I stared at GBTC and OBTC this morning and was very tempted to buy more. But SOL's advice that pigs get slaughtered stopped me because I already have two 1/3 lots and one 1/4 lot. And because now I'm over 75% deployed in stocks and with existing limit orders in place I have few bullets left. I heard Bitcoin has slipped on Elon Musk comments and it may well recover. Despite the fact I've made some good profits this year swing trading GBTC I think I'll stay out and watch.

Sorry $17.50 Some sort of brain burp I guess. Wish I had waited another day on the Bitcoin plays.
