Interim Market Update April 2, 2021
We are looking at a lot of data and new stocks, hence the delay. The report will still be dated Portfolio Update March 31, for consistency purposes. A lot of new plays will be issued and we will be talking about potential new services. A lot is going in the markets; we are looking at a massive amount of data, that suggests that the housing market might temporarily pullback (creating an opportunity) and that the Dow might be laying the groundwork for 50K.
The update will be sent out over the weekend. In the interim remember that fear pays very poorly

We'll be watching for it. Thanks SOL.SOL wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 3:21 pm We are looking at a lot of data and new stocks, hence the delay. What is your thinking on why housing market might temporarily pull back? Because interest rates are spiking? Because multi-family buildings are coming online (supply glut?). Because lumber and steel prices are up? Demographics? (boomers are dying, less immigration. less birth rate). So far all these are all true with no evidence any of these trends is reducing housing demand. Too many moving parts for me to guess which of these will impact short term.
I suspect the interest rates going up short term will have the largest impact but with so much government money sloshing around people are willing to pay for higher housing prices and government programs to buy will have an impact.
I also keep thinking that if AI /automated construction enters the housing market in a big way longer term should displace construction labor and there may be a point in the next 10 years where the cost of building a house goes down. This might look like 3D printing of the house, the use of the new brick laying robot, the pre-manufacture of pre-made panels, and the ability to bore electric, plumbing and sewer lines accurately into place without so much earth work on site. I think Apple is stupid for building smart cars when they could invest their billions into automating home construction at scale.

With so many new plays do you have any concern we will become over-deployed in the stock market? I'm thinking of saving bullets for MOBO and FOBO events. I'm 60% deployed in MU and AI plays with 40% in cash. I've always thought I'd like to keep at least 30% for a MOBO.SOL wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 3:21 pm We are looking at a lot of data and new stocks, hence the delay. I stopped worrying many moons ago, it makes life so much better. Having said, that you should do what feels right. The plays we are looking at for the most part are great long term plays so we don't pay attention to short term aberrations.Triplethought wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 4:07 pmWith so many new plays do you have any concern we will become over-deployed in the stock market? Here's one reason for a possible pullback aka opportunity in the long run

Exactly my concern too. After the past weeks' shopping spree, my cash level is down to about 10%. In the meantime I have unloaded certain plays that were not moving much such as BSX. But as SOL says we just have to do what we feel right and don't get too hung up on it.Triplethought wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 4:07 pm

Take your time as far as I'm concerned Sol, I'd rather have a thorough update than a rushed one!

BSX is one I'm waiting to go to the moon since we have options on it. I unloaded my own plays. Turkeys such as JOET, UUP, QQQ (well not a turkey but you know what I mean)ultramartian wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 6:55 pmExactly my concern too. Hey Sol, any long-term targets for the Nasdaq to go along with the possibility of Dow 50k?

I'm particularly interested in this (Nasdaq) too? Unfortunately with the UK platform I'm on, I cannot get into any other sub sectors of the US stock market other than, DJ30, US500 and Nasdaq.

Re: Interim Market Update April 2, 2021
We reviewed BSX in the latest update which is almost ready to be sent, if BSX completes the pattern it will push the options we have at least 100% higher (conservative estimate) but as always don't let greed into the equation. Greed as bad as fear as it means emotions are doing the talking. Life is simple as is investing, stupid filters are what push individuals to imagine a false outcomeTriplethought wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 9:44 pm

Just read the latest MU and quoted Sol to my wife, "Should you signup for this service? Well, how can we objectively answer that? All we can say is that if you think you can use it, give it a shot as it’s being offered at a low price. If you don’t believe you will need it, then don’t sign up. That should be more than enough information for you to decide how to proceed."
She said, "That is refreshing". I agree.
Also, I am looking forward to checking out the "Hellfire Portfolio". It seems like it should come with a sound tract to play when trading these. HaHa
