Watch the high altitude balloon reaching height in excess of 120,000 feet:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnxvS9XFJnE
This is obviously captured with an ultra wide glass lens of GoPro Hero 3:
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00F3F ... 0a-21&th=1
You can see after the balloon has burst at 2:42:13 the horizon becomes convex or concave depending on the viewing angle of the camera. However for the most part before the burst, the horizon remains more or less flat. Those who claim to have seen curve at 30,000 feet only saw illusion.

Re: Vreading and Madness inside and outside the markets
As for the weather balloon video, you know GoPro software digitally removes the distortion (curve) caused by their ultra-wide-angle lenses, right? Why is it that no matter which way the camera is pointed there appears to be a depression around 2/3rds of the way to the right of the video? (I only watched the first minute because I already knew the thing about the software removing the lens curve prior to today).ultramartian wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 6:28 pm However, when you are at the beach, you can see with naked eyes that ships disappear over the horizon which is about 5 miles away that proves the globe theory right? But wait, when you use a telephoto zoom lens you miraculously pull the ship which has supposedly gone over the curve of the globe, back into view.
So here's a calculator to show the math in your ship example is out of whack by at least 30-fold...
https://calculators.io/curvature/
If your eye level is 5'9" and a ship is big enough to see out to just under 5 miles, and a telescope brings it back into view you're probably not going to notice the missing 34 inches of mega ship below the horizon, the ship is probably over 100' tall above water and less than 3 feet is behind your horizon.
And then I found this when I was searching for an experiment I dreamed up (knowing I'm basically ignorant on the subject, someone else must have thought up the same thing and proved it already)... https://www.metabunk.org/threads/soundl ... rain.8939/
Also my brother is a land surveyor and takes highly precise measurements over great distances for a living and he says the Earth is a ball...I'd be interested to meet a land surveyor that thinks the earth is flat.

If you can see the curve of the power lines going over the horizon, why wouldn't you notice any curve in the horizon itself?

Career Land Surveyor: No curve ever measured. Interview starts at about 15:00 minute mark:

Software fish-eye lens correction does exactly that, otherwise all shots from GoPro will look like we live in a fish bowl.
I don't intend to start yet another flat earth debate on the internet, but I think our group of forum members are more open to different concept than the mainstream narratives would have us believe, and deserve a chance to look into it.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is how you feel. The world will try to throw curveballs at you at every possible opportune moment. It is how you react to these curve balls that count? I find that focussing on the good and simple things in life help bring balance to one's life. For me good food, peace and a bit of good booze, coffee, tea etc, help stablise the outlook. You can't change people or the world, but you can change the way you let these things affect your day to day activities

Proposition: Everyone (at companies) are really busy right now. Because they laid off workers, no materials are flowing in, backorders at steel and aluminum companies, components hard to get.
Everyone still has PPP money. Biden just got 1.9 T more
conclusion: Biden and CV-19 is creating a false roaring economy with more unemployed, lazier employees, larger back orders. It has to bite us in the ass at some point.

Current atmospheric levels of CO2 (400ppm) are much lower than 500 million years ago (3000-9000ppm).

Re: Vreading and Madness inside and outside the markets
think living in the present is the miracle and the win.......as much of the day one possibly is able and more one gets there the easier it becomes (tricks like "why not now?") ! just was sent a video showing China's military might on display alleging its delivery systems so fast that no defence system could possibly intercept them - however i went right back to the moment and into the miracle and that moment or those moments is in itself an infinity of life.
be in/do the PRESENT = Live the MIRACLE = infinity; there is no more, Why not now?... The Law of Mirrors. I'd go insane if I didn't act crazy

US is a very open statement. If buy "us" you mean the masses then I would tend to agree. The rich only get richer and the big shadowy plays that control the narrative are beyond rich. They never lose. Many will get bitten in the arse but it will be those individuals that can least afford it, further proving that stupidity knows no limits and that nature does not favour the weak of mind or body. In other words the masses will always get a raw deal.Triplethought wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 7:12 pm Proposition: Everyone (at companies) are really busy right now. Even the New York Times Characterization of Falun Gong is ‘Bizarre and Troubling', regarding The Epoch Times Media. The Epoch Times is founded by John Tang and a group of Chinese-American Falun Gong practitioners.NoLimit201 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 2:20 amGlad to see someone here knows who Falun Gong is. The whole point of higher V readings is not to discuss credible sources as the masses don't focus on research, they focus on what is easy and today Media outlets are selling crap under the guise of real news and the masses are lapping it. Just look around and look at how people react to social media and any story published on so-called credible sites. Very few people fact check. Crap sells well if it is marketed properly; sad but true

re: the whole flat earth thing . . . .
i just find it very funny that when it comes down to it . . . .. . . normal people . . . "we" weren't really taught these basics with any certainty.
regular people don't really know if its flat or not. its kind of embarrassing the whole thing.
it seems ridiculous to claim its flat given the amount of experts who say it isn't, yet i am not enough of an expert to really dispel some of the flat earth arguments i've seen. so funny.
i'm personally interested in understanding the cosmos, planets, stars, etc, so i do find it interesting to think about. i do want to know. so i just view the whole thing as a fun exercise in learning.
best "ball earth" arguments i've seen are that the pole star, etc, other stars are not visible from the southern hemisphere, and certain stars from the south are not visible in the northern hemisphere. seems simple enough and is easily verifiable

Re: Vreading and Madness inside and outside the markets
I have friends that are ELR (extreme long range) shooters and they all use apps to help them calculate how to adjust their scopes for the coriolis effect at the distance and latitude they're shooting at. If you're shooting north or south in the northern hemisphere your going to miss the target to the right without correction and likewise if you're shooting east or west the target is going to be coming up over or falling further down behind the horizon. Of course at the equator your target is moving 1,037 miles per hour and at the 45th parallel (approximately where I'm at) your target is only moving at approximately 733 MPH so your corrections are going to be a lot less than if you're shooting in Texas.hooligan wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 12:03 am re: the whole flat earth thing . . . .
