CLF - Cleveland-Cliffs

Post by Eric »

Sol, wondering what your analysis is on CLF. I had a bunch of Jan-2021 $10 calls that I owned for $0.25/share...too bad I sold them when CLF was around $6 with only about 4 months left on the option :o. I bought INTC calls which are only up 310% instead of the 3,100% gain on CLF. Still winning, just not as much as I could have. ;)

I recently acquired some CLF 2023 LEAPS and have some shares in my 401k (with a basis down in the $5.50 range).

They recently bought ArcelorMittal which may not yet be accurately reflected in their share price and there was some insider buying last Friday.

Nice breakout but imho I’ll wait for a pullback at the 21 SMA, this little bug I see can fly to the moon

Monthly Chart of CLF
Image

It has room to run based on the monthly charts, but it is now running into a massive zone of resistance in the 15.90 to 16.50 ranges. If it can close above this level on a monthly basis (preferably 16.50) it has a good chance of putting in a series of new 52 week highs. On the weekly charts it's trading in the overbought ranges so it needs to consolidate and or let some steam before attempting to take out the 16.50 ranges.
