Interim Market Update May 17, 2023
I was making steady progress on the latest update, and I was almost at the 75% mark when I received the distressing news that my dear friend's father had passed away.
Our connection has lasted for over two decades, making us as close as brothers. In fact, some have even playfully referred to us as "siblings from different mothers." I am currently en route to Turkey, where I will complete the update. Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay, as this news caught me completely off guard

I'll second that, sorry for your loss and I'm sure you'll be able to console your 'brother from another mother ' as one of my friends says to me!
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

Re: Interim Market Update May 17, 2023
Thanks for the emails and posts here. Death is an unavoidable part of life that we all have to face, and I have more or less learned to cope with the concept. The hardest part is dealing with the immense grief and suffering endured by others in the face of loss. It is particularly distressing when it affects close-knit friends and family units.
These experiences serve as a strong reminder of how fragile life is and the importance of living life fully instead of getting caught up in trivial matters.
Now, it's time to refocus on the task at hand, which is the market update.

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your friend's father and your loss as well. Losing a parent is a profound loss, and I hope they find solace in the love and support of those around them.SOL wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 2:44 pm I was making steady progress on the latest update, and I was almost at the 75% mark when I received the distressing news that my dear friend's father had passed away.

Re: Interim Market Update May 17, 2023
Some interpretation of these words re Regional Bank Etf (iat) in may 21 update, svp
"This investment is a contrarian play on the blood-sucking banking sector. While some banks may
falter, this sector will endure like fleas, resilient and difficult to eradicate. There are ample
opportunities for these blood-suckers to feast on the misfortunes of others and generate profits"
Does it mean?
by "contrarian on the blook-sucking banking sector" - that this investment is not a blood-sucking example in the banking sector but a blood infusion?
"this sector will endure like fleas, resilient and difficult to eradicate" - is it modifying the particular Regional Bank Sector or a particular sector of Regional Banks that this etf is investing in? "difficult to eradicate" - does this mean that the Regional Banks as a whole will be mostly immune to Bank failures vs Larger or other classes of Banks or just the Regional Banks that this ETF is investing in ?
"ample opportunities for these blood-suckers to feast on the misfortunes of others" - examples of this apparent good thing would be?
I up to now was thinking that the USA regulators could toughen the Banking Regulations to help protect from Banking Failures and that the Regional (which i take r smaller independent banks) Banks r just as much if not more prone to banking failures eg. the regs could lower the debt to total asset ratio etc.
Does this particular Regional Banking etf have some magic sauce in there as i was prior to reading this update considering KRE but having some of same trepidations as set out above .
Thanks in advance for your input.

Regional banks, on a forward P/E basis, are the cheapest they have been on record (?since 1994).
Cheaper than during the height of the 2020 plandemic.
With that said, for my banking allocation, I prefer accumulating BAC. One of the big ones, tbtf, and it's Berkshire's 2nd or 3rd largest holding, last time I checked.
nfa.

Yodean, what does tbtf stand for - i thought it was another bank stock but maybe it means something else. Communication can be a Bitch at times - i find i am misunderstood so many times eg recently I referred to portfolio as pf and a couple of people in stocks did not know what i was talking about.

tbtf = too big to fail (e.g. government/Fed will backstop them)Centeron631 wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 6:26 pm Yodean, what does tbtf stand for - i thought it was another bank stock but maybe it means something else.

I notice the NDX is screaming high. I took profits at around 13,800....I am obviously looking at the semi stocks and thinking it may be time to jump in and out real quick. What to do at this moment? Wait for the pullback....? Update coming soon?

Tactical Investors don't chase. When you feel like chasing, it's best to sit out, all targets have been hit and surpassed. It's time to exercise patience and wait for the dust to settle and or the smoke to dissipate.jonnyfrank wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 12:28 pm I notice the NDX is screaming high.
