USA is a powerhouse in wrestling sport, in the world top 5. Russia is number one, its a traditional sport in Russia.

I notice that Bulgaria, a little country of 7 millions habitants ranks in the top 10.

Ivan Ivanov a bulgarian wrestling coach in USA, invented the bulgarian bag. It seems to be a good training tool for rotational movements.
Great workout tool to add to one's arsenal. How do you use it? Do you follow his technique, or do you have your own style?

Everybody can notice the efficiency and the power of this spinning movement around the shoulders,

No Sol, I never used it and never saw one. I dont live in a wrestlers country !! for the rotational movements , I only use heavy wooden clubs. But it was only to remark that the great wrestling nations have all their original training tool for multi planar movements and full range of motion.

Iran, another power house in wrestling sport, is the nation of the wooden clubs ( see the videos I posted about the zurkhaneh), like India. And the wooden clubs, light and heavy, are tremendous tools for training the shoulder girdle in the three planes of motion at the same time.

Turkey, another power house in wrestling sport could also have their original weapon for training the three planes of motion with the turkish get up.

The western countries, in the last centuries, have invented the barbell and the dumbell. And these tools are tremendous efficient for making muscles, because they are simple to learn, and simple to train with. And they also are well suited for competitions, these linear movements are easy to compare. But the movements are very simple and are executed in only one plane of motion, mostly in the sagital plane. But our body is not created to work in only one motion plane.

The human shoulder is a miracle of the creation. This joint can move in the three axes and three planes. And its very sad, the majority of the people dont train their shoulder girdle in the three planes.

Stefk, thanks for posting so much data on training the shoulders on three planes. What do you make of this guy?

Good training to learn to give powerful punches on stupid aggressive faces in case of.......the power comes from the flexible shoulders but also from rotational movement of the hips.

I dont know if somebody has already spoken about glycine here on this thread.

And in the gym where I go, nobody knows anything about it. I already knew that the fitness industry is stuck in stupidity. But glycine could be one of the most important and most useful food supplement, for strength, sleep quality and longevity.

There are tons of papers, trials and animals experiments on the subject. Therefore I take 5 gr glycine everyday before sleeping.

We, modern humans are glycine deficient, we dont eat anymore the bones , the cartilage and the skins of the animals we eat.

I agree that Glycine is a beneficial supplement. I also consume a lot of pure gelatin to gain some of the benefits associated with eating skin and cartilage. However, Glycine and Gelatin complement each other, so I consume both.

Thank you for introducing me to the Bulgarian bag. Prior to your recommendation, I was not aware of its existence or its benefits. I currently own the 5kg, 15kg, and 20kg bags, and I am gradually working my way up to using heavier bags. My goal is to be able to use the 30kg bag eventually, but I am taking things slowly to avoid any injuries.

The great thing about these bags is that you don't really need to do a warm-up routine as long as you follow the proper routine. There are also numerous options for exercise, which keeps things interesting and fun. Most importantly, the results are incredibly powerful. So thanks once again.

You are welcome Sol. You made a good investment with these bags, and as you say, all these multiplanar flow exercices are fun, its important to keep the things fun.

If you combine all these exercices with the gymboss, your workouts will reach another level. I always exercice now with the real Tabata classical protocol (20sec maximum work, 10sec rest, X 8) and it became a drug. You chose 4, or maximum 6 exercices per day, 4 min per exercice with tabata protocol, with warming up and cool down, and your workouts dont last more than 40 min. If you do more, it becomes negative for the testo level.

gymboss, also a very good investment.

I am pretty sure the idea of bulgarian bag comes from the indian sumtola. This kushti wrestler gives very good examples of flows you can do with this tool or with a bulgarian bag. For me, the most interesting movement is at 3,40 min, a good multiplanar flow movement.

Angel of Darkness

*****

Pretty good review of the current evidence on melatonin, beyond its effects on sleep, including:

- may be conceptualized as the Angel of Darkness to vitamin D's Lightbringer - both are necessary, and melatonin may play a significant role in how vitamin D pathways are expressed;

- beneficial in terms of anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-aging, and immune system optimization effects, as well as potential roles in cancer prevention and as an adjuvant for traditional chemotherapy;

-role in mitochondrial function optimization;

-phyto-melatonin vs. synthetic melatonin;

Exciting stuff.

The stinging nettle, a blessing of the creation, maybe one of the healthiest food on earth, and its free, it costs nothing.

I let this plant grow in my garden, I dont do like everybody and all my neighbours, who pull the nettles like a weed.

I eat nettles three times per week, I prepare it in pesto an soups, delicious.

Is the dried (dry leaves) version fine or does it have to be consumed fresh? I consume the dried leaves from time to time

In France they do a thing called purin d'orties which is cut nettles put in a bucket of water for a couple of weeks.
Bit stinky, (v. stinky!) - put it on your plants. Supposed to be nutritious and keep off insects etc.
Also 'grandmother' recipe - put nettles in bottom of hole when you are planting tomatoes etc.

In my case, I always eat nettles fresh, from my garden directly to my kitchen. I suppose the dried leaves have the

same properties.

https://youtu.be/KbTn_IjmUFc

An exemple of nettles soup, all the recipes are with fresh leaves.

https://healthybreadbysophia.com/recipe ... ttle-soup/

You can also prepare pesto to eat with spaghettis or with sardines.

Bon appétit
