This happening more often. The heavy hand of Google at work. If they keep this up, they are going to eventually lose as AI will allow another company to steal the show in the same manner they stole the show from Yahoo. People don't like being censored and Google is censoring everything on YT and also messing with search results

I have noticed for the last year or so my Google search results have gotten just terrible. I have been wanting to switch to a more private search engine (Duckduckgo, startpage, etc.) and I have tried multiple times in the past but the results I was getting were bad... I think Google has jumped the shark and I have had Duckduckgo as the default engine on my phone for a year. I'm switching my computer too. I have been trying to switch my email to Protonmail but man it's hard to switch away from an email you've had for roughly 20 years. I should just upgrade to a paid Protonmail account, that might motivate me to switch more aggressively.

I have to agree search results on Google stink. I use duckduckgo as they provide far better results; the results are more relevant. If you want to find anything relevant in G now, you almost have go to page 7 to 10. These big companies still fail to understand how AI will level the playing field. Remember AT&T it was once the biggest company in the US, then it almost went bellyup before I think SBC communications bought it out and retained the name.
The big guys always fall hard unless they adapt, so while G might appear formidable if they don't change their gameplan they will be taken out eventually

Hey Sol, I know this may be a bit of an impossible question to answer with high precision, but what kind of time frame do you think it will be that these types of Tech Titans like Google may be disrupted by smaller, new companies, and when it starts to happen, what kind of warning signs would they exhibit, whether on a MP or technical analysis level?

Random Musings
How many TI members are now considering Call options on the old stable corps - MSFT AAPL BRK-B or DIA . These all have good cash generating abilities and lots of cash on hand.
I am placing bids for Jan and June 2022 anticipating a strong recovery by that time. I look for large "Open Interest" (volume) so there is a decent chance of cashing in on profits well before that date.
Any thoughts, or warnings?
Been using duckduckgo for years. Odd time I see google results on someone elses machine, I'm appalled at the manipulated presentation and bad quality links.
I think Google has better algos...and when they used those algos to provide exactly the search results I wanted to see it just felt like all other search engines might as well be Lycos or Altavista (for you young 'uns those were the wall mounted hand-cranked telephones of the search engine world). Now that Google is using their algos to provide the search results THEY want me to see it's time to go where the engines are honest (though not as polished).
