Prolly a mix of all those reasons.

Funny, true story: heard recently swimming pools were having problems finding and hiring lifeguards, so they began hiring people who didn't know how to swim, and giving them swimming lessons as a condition of employment.

Like anything, if one doesn't apply discipline then things become our masters rather than serve us. Technology can serve us in so many ways and increase our standard of living but it has mastered many and we have become slaves to for example our mobiles. One way to combat this is to regularly go out without it, think about what we did before them, did we stay in doors all day in case someone called us on the landline.

Money is another, when we're young we think if I had so much I would relax and enjoy life, but most when they achieve what they dreamed of want more, and when they have 10 times more they still want more, it has become their master no matter what excuses they use.

You are so right about fun exercises outside - I watched a documentary about teenagers who had mental health issues, they were spending most of their time indoors on their mobile etc. When they got them doing outdoors stuff life walking in woods identifying different plants, flowers, insects etc. they felt so much better, one young lady had to start a fire for herself and then they all cooked off it afterwards and it gave her so much self esteem.
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

Whatever nectar flows from the moon which is divine form, it is all swallowed up by the sun. Hence the body decays.

There exists a divine process by which the sun is duped…

If one’s navel is high and palate is low, then the sun is above and the moon below. This position, the inverted pose (Viparita Karani), is to be learned through the instructions of a Guru.

Hata Yoga Pradipika III, 77-79
.............................

This is the king of the asanas.

The ancients yogis discovered a simple method to slow the body decay. These ancients had no political agenda, no financial agenda, they had no reasons to lie, we can trust them.......
I didn't comment last year but I've been assuming this is a joke right?
Current atmospheric levels of CO2 (400ppm) are much lower than 500 million years ago (3000-9000ppm).

You assume well, its better to trust your health guru Fauci and the great philanthropist and altruist health expert Bill Gates. ........

I have another joke for you, MAYURASANA, the peacock pose my favorite asana. :D :D :D

Here’s what Svatmarama wrote about mayurasana in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika:

Mayurasana quickly alleviates all diseases like enlargement of the glands, dropsy (edema) and other stomach disorders. It rectifies imbalance of the humours (vata, pitta and kapha). It reduces to ashes all food taken indiscriminately, kindles the gastric fire and enables destruction of kalakuta (toxins). – HYP 1.31

In Asia, the wild peacocks eat a wide range of foods, and also poisonous snakes. Therefore the name peacock.

some of the benefits that have been ascribed to this pose by yoga masters:

• Powerful digestive tonic
• Promotes elimination of toxins, especially from the liver
• Invigorates the entire body
• Increases blood circulation throughout the abdominal organs
• Relieves many diseases of digestion
• Massages and strengthens the stomach and spleen
• Can help those with diabetes
• Revitalizes the pancreas
• Decreases acidity in the blood, especially when performed in the morning
• Strengthens wrists, elbows and shoulders

I am sure you will never practice this joke, I assume you dont have enough joker spririt.

This pose is challenging if you have never done it and don't keep practising. Don't believe me, trying to do it. If you have never done, you are liable to smash your head into the floor.

For those who don't believe in the health benefits, think of the strength benefits. It strengthens your arms, thighs, and wrists and helps counter the effects of typing by working out the wrist flexors.

More and more I focus on movement. Ginasitica natural is a beautiful practice.

They make no buzz, no hype with this method, but very healthy, joints friendly movements. The origin of this practice is jiujitsu brasileiro. What you need to practice is your body and the ground.

You can use these movements as warming up, or cool down, or as a full workout, its up to you, the most important is to move, to roll, and to feel the flow.

Learned it when ten years old in Falls Church VA. Pretty sure stefk knows somebody developed it long ago.

This is what the National Wrestling Hall of Fame has to say of Billy Martin:
William Martin (Billy)

February 08, 1918 - March 28, 2007

Were it not for the high school wrestling coaches of this land, there would be few -if any -collegiate and post-graduate stars to earn national and international acclaim. Among these vital contributors to the sport, Billy Martin stands at the highest level.

His record at Granby High School in Norfolk, Virginia, is a story of phenomenal success, 259 dual meet victories and but nine defeats, 22 state team titles in 23 years, 106 individual state champions.

Six of his wrestlers went on to capture 10 National Collegiate championships. Two of them competed in the Olympic Games. Many others earned All-America honors. One year, 10 of his proteges appeared in the same NCAA tournament, representing a variety of schools.

Yet the measure of a high school coach rests not only on the written records. His true impact on the sport is achieved through his influence on the lives of young men. Here, the diminutive figure of Billy Martin stands among the giants.

He began his education in wrestling as a 1940 graduate of Michigan State. But he never faltered in extending that education, nor in sharing it with others. Always seeking a new and better method, he became known as an innovator of wrestling maneuvers, such as the Granby Series.

His educational efforts for wrestling are not measured by scholastic seasons. Through clinics and summer camps, he carried his knowledge of wrestling and its values to thousands of youngsters and their coaches.

Billy Martin was the founder of organized wrestling in Virginia, developing programs at all levels across the state-high school, collegiate, intramural, recreational and community activities.

For a lifetime of leadership in the development of wrestling, for his contribution to the education and well-being of young athletes, William Patrick Martin is honored as a Distinguished Member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
His son Steve continued the tradition. His Great Bridge teams won state championships 12 of the 13 years he coached there.
Martin became Great Bridge’s coach in 1991 and compiled a 306-15-1 record, coaching 40 state champions, 98 state place-winners, 35 All-Americans and six national champions. His teams were nationally ranked all 13 years, and the 2003 and 2004 squads earned the nation’s top public school honor.
Went to Old Dominion University for 16 years but ODU discontinued its wrestling programme 2020. This note on ODU website lays out the year by year progress and also the other family members.

Steve returned to Great Bridge HS in 2021. GB won state championships 2022, not sure of 2023.

USA is a powerhouse in wrestling sport, in the world top 5. Russia is number one, its a traditional sport in Russia.

I notice that Bulgaria, a little country of 7 millions habitants ranks in the top 10.

Ivan Ivanov a bulgarian wrestling coach in USA, invented the bulgarian bag. It seems to be a good training tool for rotational movements.

Thanks for that stefk, I agree, looks like a great tool, and not just for rotational exercises. Just ordered one to try.
