Good luck!
Maybe day trade using trailing stops or VWAP on UNG.

Dunno. I don't follow gas, too volatile.

Re: Natural Gas
The natural gas market is overbought on the long-term monthly charts. Hence by default, I would avoid it. I think Uranium offers a better risk-to-reward ratio if you want to jump in and out. One can do this via URA or through more volatile plays such as DNN

Re: Natural Gas
Our utility bills in the UK better go down soon then or as usual they'll make a host of excuses even though they put the prices up a millisecond after wholesale prices went up due to the war.

Re: Natural Gas
I know. In December or January I saw EU and maybe UK electricity prices go up 500% ( give or take) over night during that cold spell because the wind turbines wouldn't turn in the cold and snow. No base load any more. That's crazy. I guess when it blows it's a good deal though.

A few days out of date (15th), I forwarded these to a pal who is negotiating hard on a commercial energy supply contract for multiple care homes.
This is not NG Henry Hub futures pricing, but the pricing that we (UK/EU consumers) are subject to.
Dutch TTF (EU benchmark)

Of course, the UK has to have their own one in pence per therms....

I've been following the wholesale prices, we are now about 35% down on pre war prices.harryg wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 8:45 pmA few days out of date (15th), I forwarded these to a pal who is negotiating hard on a commercial energy supply contract for multiple care homes.

What's the conclusion on why our energy prices aren't coming down or at least talk of them dropping, think their still talking of higher prices. Surely they can't keep making excuses.
And where have you been Harry?

Re: Natural Gas
Utes use both hedging and LT contracts in the States in an attempt to mitigate price fluctuations. I personally know how the risk averse engineering community plan and budget so I suspect that has some impact. Don't know about UK practices.
BTW, the forecasts were usually wrong and all of the effort and budget activity did not seem to justify the output. I suspect this was all related to the 70's energy crisis, which was actually a FOREX related currency crisis.

UK is a mess unfortunately, no-one willing to take control/responsibility for anything it seems. Lurching from one avoidable crisis to the next.bpcw wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 10:07 pm

The excuse for pricing will be that the rates are based on previous period etc etc.
Hibernating and hols.
