That is good stuff, Y! I love TA. We live in a moment where the FED and politics seem to sway the markets a little too much, and my thinking is we need to watch closely for those "qualitative" events and influences. But hey, 90% is tough to ignore, right?

Still has room to move higher. COUP is up today on news. Currently below sale price by two bucks.

They have beaten earnings expectations.

About two weeks ago, HMI Capital as a main investor stated they would support a buy evaluation of 95$ per share.
I agree with them for X reasons, with X being the number of shares in my account 😉

What do you think? Hold for a higher offer?
If I am not mistaken, we do not have an exit target at the moment.

FWIW when I saw the sale price I decided not a bad time to unload. IF the sale doesn't go through, I would be tempted to buy again. Or on CPI/FED news the next two days.

fwiw, earlier today, i closed the put position on COUP (originally sold jan23-80p). pretty nice gains.

does look like it's coming out of a stage 1 basing pattern to enter stage 2 at some point ... vs. false breakout (less likely).

Goes higher. Here's a look at monthly. MACD and RSI turned.

Goes higher. Here's a look at monthly. MACD and RSI turned.
There is quite a large short position, as of Nov 29, 11.68% of the float was being shorted, which corresponds to 7.68 million shares. The average number of shares traded on a daily basis is 2.48 million. Yesterday over 32 million shares exchanged hands, so possibly some short covering took place, and if the price continues to trend upwards more shorts will be forced to cover.

The stock is also trading in the extremely oversold ranges on the monthly charts, sentiment on the stock until recently was quite negative, so there are a lot of potential factors that favour higher prices.

Image

Notice the RSI has flatlined in the insanely oversold zone on the monthly charts; over 80% of the time, a turnaround is in the works when this occurs. As stock shot up on a take over bid, the only way it trades much higher is if the activists pushing for a 95 or higher offer succeed or another firm comes in with a higher offer. The third option is that they reject the offer, the stock drops and then starts to trend upwards on its own merits.

Getting acquired at $81 per share
The last time I checked, it was not sealed. Activists still wanted 95 or so

Just skimmed this info

Seems deal was approved by Coupa board but is still to be approved by share holders.

What is the prospect if Coup is bought out, does the stock automatically move up to $81 per share or however much it is being bought out on? Just wondering if I should hold for a few more $
