This is one of my earliest memories of laughing my head off.

Around 1980.

Very funny, used to watch the series but can't remember this clip.

Remember shouting 'off with the goolies' so I imagine this is where it comes from.

Yes that is definitely where off with the goolies comes from.

I always thought the funniest line in I Like Trucking was not the obvious, but

On the road, you can wear your shirtsleeves rolled,
You eat chocolate when it's cold.


I suppose it coincided with the Yorkie ads.


Incidentally, Rowan Atkinson has an HGV licence in real life.


I don't know if you remember, but they started the next episode with a speech about how they had received lots of complaints about squashed hedgehogs, but in fact no hedgehogs were harmed because they only used stuffed hedgehogs.

So they were in fact showing less cruelty to hedgehogs than whoever it is who goes around stuffing them.

Those were the days even though I was not born then, but somehow I can relate to those times better than the present. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that, for the most part, my close friends or people that I felt connected to were on the low end, ten years older than I and, in some cases, close to almost 40 years, though most in the latter category have since passed.
