Powell did not need his bib today

Powell obviously learned something from his last press conference. Today he done good. Still all a bunch of BS, but at least he did not vomit on himself like last time.

Yah, he sort of killed my theory that the next minor leg down will be December 14th. I might have been wrong as the market seems to be cool with a .5% increase in fed funds rate.
Current atmospheric levels of CO2 (400ppm) are much lower than 500 million years ago (3000-9000ppm).

There are still the CPI numbers to contend with, but if they come in swell again this could be a true Santa rally. We shall see. My short term portfolio is giving me hives, but I enjoy managing it. I have my LT holdings but they are boring to watch. They remind me of my coin collection.

I am willing to bet he already has a good idea of what those numbers are. I'm guessing 0.0% or -0.1%. That should juice things up a bit.

Now all we need is for China to loosen the grip on the lockdowns and watch the markets take off some more.

No, not the moon. DJI 35784. ES 4552. IXIC 13873. Just spitballin' here.

Jesus the Nasdaq is up 4.4% in 1 day. Holy crap. Anyone wanna bet if markets are up or down tommorow? I'd bet down because you can't sustain that much up all at once.

Today was a really good day in the markets. I did more activity today than I have in a long time, selling Covered Calls and Credit Put Spreads. Wish I would have moved quicker on some more potential trades, but now to wait and see how it all plays out. I hope you all had fun today.

Triplethought....the NAS went up about 500+ points a few weeks back and continued a solid rally for a few more days, and that was simply due to inflation numbers being less aggressive than projected. Five days later, it was up another 500+ points.....just something to ponder.

Fun fun! Had one position go from -17% to +32% in 12 minutes this afternoon. Closed some short puts for >80% of the profit potential in <60% of the time 'till expiration. Bank those profits and find a new trade to do it again!

The Nasdaq is gathering steam. It mounted its first strong rally nine days after the Nov 9th update. It has followed through, and if the MACDs on the weekly charts experience a bullish crossover, it could test its Aug highs and potentially take them out at 3X the pace of the Dow. We might have to revert to using the Nasdaq as the trigger point. Not yet, but we are getting there.

Markets are still climbing a wall of worry based on sentiment data

Volatility is traders' best friend, but not all traders are looking for friends, some. seem to love their enemy which is Master Fear
