Russian Roulette was a term actually coined by the USA. The Russians in general, still find that term to be idiotic. However, I digress, regarding politics nothing will change, it's the same pigs or skunks or worse, with different clothes and perhaps more expensive perfume to mask the stench.
Ukraine might be on the chopping block because win or lose, the big players already made a killing and all the money allocated for this fight has already been disbursed. So now they are likely to move onto the next killing field.

I've just joined the Jehovah's bystanders.
It's like being a Jehovah's Witness but we don't like to get involved.
Was in the pub having a few swift halves and got chatting to a girl. She had a tattoo on her shoulder and asked me if I had any tattoos myself.
I said: "Well, as it happens, I do have the name of that famous Welsh town tattooed on my you-know-what."
She said, "What, no, I don't believe it! You don't mean Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch?"

Religion comes in many forms, and I respectfully disagree with your overall assessment of things in your post here. One of the most difficult aspects of believing in "God" is that we don't want to be disappointed in Him (or Her, if one insists) and thus many often shun Him out of fear that if they do throw themselves at Him and embrace Him and the rituals surrounding Him AND somehow he does not come through on the level we believe he should come through on, then there is truly no hope beyond this one life. This is why it is important to have the faith that he works in ways that we simply cannot comprehend. Think of giving a differential equations math book to a 5 year old and asking him or her to make sense of it. This is the position we place ourselves in when we cast out such nonsense as "if there was a god then those people would not have died in that fire!"--we cannot even remotely comprehend His plan. Faith is hard work, but in this world living without faith is even harder. If you embrace the idea of eternity there is so much more to live for, and you will perhaps find comfort in the idea that the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel is indeed warm sunshine, and not a freight train bearing down on you to introduce you to the darkness of death.

Cockney rhyming is quite an interesting slang.
It supposedly started in the prisons so that the warders would not undestand what the Cockneys were saying to each other.
Ronnie does it here in full form so others can understand (and most of his is made up), but the full form is almost never used. So, for example, wife is 'trouble'. If you don't know that it stands for trouble-and-strife (!) then you don't have the rhyming part so there is no way to get from trouble to wife.
It's dying out, although some individuals take stubborn pride in artificially 'keeping it alive' and talking in code (a bit like people speaking to each other in Occitan in SW France).
However, many people, particularly in E & S London still commonly use it for certain words, for example:
Butchers = look (butcher's hook) eg: let's go and take a butcher's at that car
Rosy = tea (Rosy Lee) eg: a nice cup of Rosy'll warm you up
Syrup = wig (syrup of figs) eg: anyone can see that's a syrup
Aris = arse (this one is a bit convoluted - Aristotle - Bottle & Glass - arse) eg: he needs a kick up the aris
China = mate (china plate) eg: alright me old china
Berk = [not saying] - extremely vulgar, many English people happily use this word to refer to an idiot without knowing the origin
Porkies = lies (pork pies) eg: stop telling porkies
Loaf = head (loaf of bread) eg: don't be silly, use ya loaf
Boracic (usually pronouned Brassic) (Boracic Lint) = skint (no money) eg: sorry mate, I'm brassic
Bread = money (bread & honey) eg: low on bread
and so on
