I've dumped for now when it was down around 3%, down about 6% now, might rebuy if things start to turn the corner.

Re: Meta (Facebook)
you can wait for a bit of a base to form first ... i.e. the whole "stage 4" vs. "stage 1" thing discussed recently ... may apply here.
meta's in stage 4, by all indications - wait for the stage 1 base to establish itself first, then it's a bit safer - better on a risk-adjusted basis - to start judicious accumulation ...

another experimental and unorthodox sentiment indicator for market bottoms and tops is the number of subs on this forum as well as on the aitt forum ... the tit services are generally bull market services - so when the number of forum subs goes down and forms a base, then an equity market bottom is usually in, or close at hand ... and vice versa for market tops.

Bottom or not bottom, never ever I have invested and will invest money in this evil gafa.
This stupid dream of Zuckerberg with this ridiculous helmet, after visionning the movie "ready player one" has no future for me, maybe in the far future when everybody will be obese and will stay home 90% of their time. But for the moment, the market agrees with me.

You are absolutely correct, but the problem is for every smart person there are 100 and maybe nowadays 1000 that will contradict that opinion, even if it is backed by solid data, they will use brute force to push their opinion. In that sense, the world of VR is here to stay and the housing crisis will be solved as most people will one day live in a coffin or capsule; they won't need much space. All they will need is space to lie down and plug into the world where everything is available instantaneously. They are very close to replicating the sensation of smell; you will actually be able to smell things when you are floating away in la la land. Imagine what will happen when they can replicate the sensation of pleasure and Pain.stefk wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 9:45 pm Bottom or not bottom, never ever I have invested and will invest money in this evil gafa.

Re: Meta (Facebook)
Although it's seen that way now, it's not just a 'Metaverse' company. Remember, Facebook is a very profitable business without it. I too don't use FB. But I do use WhatsApp. Why? because I have friends who use only WhatsApp. And, as Jeff (Rules of Engagement) would say: "That's how they get you!"
My 'business' view of the Metaverse is similar to SOL's, I have no doubt that there are millions of people already looking forward to it.
Zuckers has a pretty good track record, (admittedly in a time of good markets), so he could well pull it off.
Meta is relatively cheap. Cheap for a reason, but cheap.
Short-term, I have no idea.
Facebook owns Instagram.
And that's how they get you!

My personal feelings are similar to yours. However, one should note that in the article you posted it is explained that Facebook is losing out to Instagram.stefk wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 9:45 pm Bottom or not bottom, never ever I have invested and will invest money in this evil gafa.

We're already in Metaverse Earth. The Sol is just an illusory avatar, just like the Yodean.
There is only One without the Other.
Facebook's Metaverse is a smaller, less refined, rudimentary creation within a larger Metaverse Earth. When the One behind the avatar "wakes up" in the morning, she has entered Metaverse Earth, but believes she's the avatar.
When the avatar "dies," Truth is revealed. Some get glimpses during her time on Metaverse Earth, but promptly forget, and get vaxxed.

Be careful with sirsasana, soldier. I suspect you practice too much sirsasana without counter pose. Its funny to see the world and the universe upside down, but too much is too much. After the headstand, the most powerful pose, always practice the chid pose, to land and come back slowly but surely on planet earth and reality !!!!Yodean wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 2:27 pmWe're already in Metaverse Earth. Sometimes I use a pill cutter to split the blue pill (the one that starts with a "V") into quarters. Then I take a quarter, in case my extremely demanding, somewhat younger wife decides "it's time."
Prolly don't need it, but it's a form of "risk management."
Don't wanna have "failure to launch."

Btw as you are Dr, is it dangerous for a normal guy to take it. Someone I know took it last year and well last say he was on fire for much longer than he expected. He pitched a tent that did not want to go down for several hours.
