Meta (Facebook)

Post by bpcw »

Is Meta worth buying at this level after it's crash yesterday evening after the earnings report?

If it's a long-term play, META is a gr8 DCA play right now. If you're trading on a short-term basis, could be good for a nice bounce at some point, but the risk prolly isn't worth it.

For long-term accumulation, current price is quite attractive.

Found it. I am picking up a few shares. It may end up being a day trade.

I've picked up some more shares for hopefully a bit of a bounce.

I'm looking for it to hit $70 but I'm working off my quarterly charts for that.

Not sure TA will help with Meta, it's gone through a massive change of late in it's business model, hoping for a bounce but if not I think it's a good longterm play.

I own it but try not to read about a company/it's finances/anything. I just look at the charts - everything I want to know is in those pretty patterns.

They are going all in, as they are going for big or broke. If they are right, it's going to be a massive home run. We are looking at the possibility of a multi-trillion dollar company or chalk ____

This is likely related to the META stock collapse.

https://imgur.com/fhptHVb

Basically is displayed a significant downtrend in cash flow which is supportive of the massive selloff in the company stock.

Takeways:

1. Biden's massive tax increase to ensure corporations pay their fare share only impacted about fifteen companies, META included.

2. My experience as an engineer included a traipse through financial oversight and review. This revealed that corporations and accounting firms can structure books to say whatever they like about financials. They are useless in stock investing. Use you eyes, retail is easy to spot by driving past Walmart and Target parking lots.

3. The Feds are digging into META on antitrust allegations. Undoubtedly true along with others. But Zuck is someone they don't like. Lina Khan at FTC and Jonathan Kanter at DOJ trying to stop an acquisition of Within.

Likely won't stop monopilization but one of the very few areas where the current administration is attempting to do something I support.

I'm with Budge on this one. Concerning the 70 figure. I feel the charts are all we have got here. Of course MP is the secret ingredient to success but the charts guide the timing. It could be the best company in the world but if the market doesn't see it that way it's not going up.

I agree there could be a bounce but only in sympathy with the overall market. Would have to look at the dailies for that. If I were getting in now I would just be guessing where the bottom is and hoping for it to become true.

Whenever you get in you're guessing at the bottom. When you're purchasing for the longterm hitting the bottom is pure luck. Sol is probably right that Meta could be a twist or bust stock for the longterm so I totally understand anyone's hesitancy.

I'm going to see if we get a decent bounce but aware that it could go quite a bit lower as the whole business model has changed and they could have gambled badly on the Metaverse side. I will dump it if we don't look like we've going to get a bounce as there are plenty of good stocks out there.

TA alone is not going to help when everyone is screaming bloody murder, but MP could play a role here. When everyone is angry and in panic mode, it usually indicates some bottom is close at hand, as was the case with the uproar in this forum. Shortly after that the markets put in a bottom. What remains to be seen with META is if a bottom is in place, will it be short lived or mark the start of a new bull, albeit one that starts off slowly

On the Monthly's one thing stands out, the MACDs are now trading at their lowest point ever.
