I know if I keep saying it, I will be right, eventually ...

In all seriousness, next Thursday (CPI) will be the next big date ... pretty much noise until then.

Hey Nostradamus. Predictions without a date are meaningless. It's easy to say there will be an earthquake in the San Francisco area. It's a bit harder to say when. :-)
Current atmospheric levels of CO2 (400ppm) are much lower than 500 million years ago (3000-9000ppm).

Dude, q4 is going to be net +ve for equities! My base case. There - time and price endpoints.

Stocks to the moon!

Buy when you feel like puking after you press the buy button ... some call it the pain trade, but I call it the "puke trade."

Puke lots, get rich!

I would be close to 50% under, what reduced my loss was selling a lot of cash-secured puts and then buying them at a lower price and doing some covered calls with the same strategy. However, I am not going to sell anything unless I get a better price than I paid. Most of the companies are good and history indicates that they will be trading several levels higher than they are today.
Yeh, would appear we're both bleeding in the trenches some:

The current situation brings to mind these five quotes or stories

What does not kill you makes you stronger, Forgot who said that. A little bleeding is supposed to extend one's life or so that is what they say
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time
. Thomas Edison
From early Colonial days, sex life in America had been based on the custom of men supporting women. That situation reached its heyday in the Twenties when it was easy for any dabbler in stocks to flaunt his manhood by lavishing an unearned income on girls. But with the stock-market crash, men were hard put even to keep their wives, let alone spend money on sex outside the home. The adjustment was much easier on women than on men, who jumped out of windows in droves, whereas I can't recall a single headline that read: KEPT GIRL LEAPS FROM LOVE NEST.
Anita Loos
In the 1920s, he decided that it was cheaper to drill for oil than to buy the overvalued shares of other oil companies. After the 1929 stock market crash, he completely changed tack; he saw that oil shares were selling at a great discount to assets, and he turned to prospecting for oil on the floor of the stock exchange
Daniel Yergin

If there was a day of the week I could skip it would be Monday. Clients had too much time to think and worry over a long weekend and by Monday they were often riddled with fear and anxiety.
Stan Turner

In the end, Miss Stock Market like Miss Death is a great teacher. With the stock market, you have a decent chance of coming out on the top, with Miss Death the most you can do is delay the inevitable.

HAH HAHAHA good one. I forget which pocket I keep the shilajit in, but one pocket also has MB.

I would say we are trying to make the best of a bad situation, finding peace in the chaos and getting ready for the next battle. In a war, you can lose many battles and still end up winning the war, provided you look at each failure as a stepping stone to success. With this treacherous, mined field, you have to be willing to stand up again, for it is far too easy to say I give up.

Despite all this talk about reforming stock purchases in congress nothing was done for those dudes have a license to steal and they are not going to give it up while peasants like us have to slough and determine what the next move is. They just wait for the info to be handed to them.
