Service to email triggered updates?

Post by John23 »

Hi All,

Is there a service that someone runs or a way that would email us when every trigger/update hits on the tactical trade service.

Right now I manually update the triggers every few weeks and its a huge amount of work. I know there is spreadsheet for updates that someone does.

Unless I'm missing something there has to be a easier way to get these triggers emailed versus manually entering them ever few weeks with updates.

I honestly can't keep up with all these updates every few weeks if I enter them manually like this...

PLEASE HELP!

First of all I would not bother with following all the plays. Start off small get used to the system. Even now I choose the plays that appeal to me there are usually more than enough to satisfy all needs. In times of volatility I tend to focus on lower risk plays (green text).

For price alerts I use this app it does the job
https://marketcueapp.com/

Here is another one that is not bad

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/stocks-tr ... d517166254

Jlshooter usually updates the sheet, but it has not been updated as of late, maybe he is busy and does not have the time to update. I am 100% positive it takes time to update it and its a great service that he provides and I am very appreciative of the time and effort he allocates to this task.

However, the above two apps should help and the triggers are not to hard to update if you are not trying to follow all the plays.

I feel a person has to put some effort into it to make it work. Everyone sees charts and trades in their own way. It is imperative that you do the work to be successful. Just training your brain to see patterns in price and time, for instance. Getting used to the way prices react to different events. Finding out what works for you. This can be done by updating your triggers and studying your charts.

If it were easy everyone would be doing it.

Two of my brokerages let me set alarms that are automatically sent to my inbox. Target hit, action taken.

Anyway, I really enjoy doing it so it's not a chore.

Chippermon is right. In my experience both in and out of the markets, if something is easy everyone does it and then soon the advantage is gone. Cinnamon makes a good point also. Lower the number of plays you follow. Strangely many investors have proven that you do better when you focus on a certain group of stocks. Indirectly I found this to be true. I have one portfolio that due to my busy schedule I could not monitor, so out of necessity I reduced the number of stocks I was planning on trading in that account by over 50%. Results were shockingly good and workload much lower.

Btw does chippermon stand for good Monday as in a chirpier Monday or is it just a random name. Cool handle btw

I had asked the same question several days ago re alerts however people's minds were elsewhere. However yesterday i came up with this solution but it will only work if ur alert system allows for notes:
I am going to take the best similar index etf and find out on a chart a date (currently somewhere in August will suit) when its price is in the range of the Dow or Nasdaq that Sol sets. Then use that etf stock as the target as my broker's alerts does not allow for alerting markets. Then I will scroll thru the update and in the alert notes i will list all stocks that have the target sale (a firm amt rather than a range) and beside them put 1/2, 2nd 1/2, all as the case may be.

As to the Nasdaq is Sol referring to the nasdaq 100 which would be qqq or the nasdaq composite which i believe would be oneq? In the Dow i will probably use VV instead of Dia as it is more popular and because TI sometimes plays Dia. I was surprised when i did the scroll thru that only one stock ibm was on the Dow at least for those giving a market sell range.

The other question i have (altho u can question anything in my thesis) and hope it is not already answered elsewhere - if Ti says sell first half at specified price range and then the second half at a index range = what if the second half range is attained before the first specific price range for the stock?

If the second trigger is hit before the first trigger then close the entire position. I had mentioned that in an update but maybe I did not do a through enough job. So in the next update before the pending plays section. A note will be put to stating the above.

As for IBM, it tends to correlate with the Dow a bit better. However, if time is an issue then replace the Dow trigger points with the Nasdaq exit points.

I am referring to the Nasdaq composite, not the NDX.

Sol, I have a doubt here. For IBM, you mentioned the above quoted statement. Now in the market update, you have given exit points with Nasdaq as an indicator. Is the Nasdaq composite or the NDX referred here (in the market update)?

That statement you mentioned was in response to this question by Centeron

I am sorry if i confused you or anyone, but it has nothing to do with IBM. The trigger for IBM is the Dow and if you are pressed for time you can use the trigger set for the nasdaq instead of the Dow. I hope that clarifies things

HA! Thanks. I have been using that handle for many, many years. My nick name is Chip and when my adult children were kids they used to mess around with these toys called Pokemons, short for Pocket Monsters. They were some kind of fighters with special skills. Whenever we were rough housing and playing around I became the Chippermon. That's all.

I use IG index and you can configure alerts with an email plus if you use the mobile app you get a pop-up.

Still obviously have to manually update the alerts each time TI levels change.

I feel in order to eat it is necessary to grow the food yourself. Just going down to a local grocery store and buying food at prices way below the cost of your own effort and what your climate can produce is cheating.

We pay SOL to take his recommendations. I say embrace automation my friends. The way an entrepreneur would answer this question is "Hey I'll do that for you for $10 per month".
Current atmospheric levels of CO2 (400ppm) are much lower than 500 million years ago (3000-9000ppm).
