The erosion of Public School quality during Covid
Parents are losing confidence in public schools. Public schools aren't preforming well during Covid via remote learning and have fewer teachers willing to return to the classroom. Parents are thus moving to home school, charter schools, Catholic schools, and "Private Pods" (where several families combine & hire a "school Marm"). One quarter of the public schools in new York are down in enrollment by 10%. Poor public school results hurts minority and poor families the most. Over a generation, it probably also increases the financial divide between the haves and have nots. Meaning it contributes to "hollowing out of the middle class" and income disparity since these children can't compete in a technology based service economy. This seems exactly the opposite of what politicians and teachers who support public schools and strong teachers unions say they want to do.

If we combine this trend with the even more important one of growth of AI pushing the move towards unemployment of non-skilled workers, then any goal of building a robust middle class or eliminating poverty in America, or eliminating the income disparity between rich and poor seems unattainable.
IF AI can displace teachers in some meaningful way, a private company could both make a ton of money and perhaps reverse the educational crisis

Current atmospheric levels of CO2 (400ppm) are much lower than 500 million years ago (3000-9000ppm).

If we don't send our children to public schools, then we should not pay property tax which is the main source of the public schools funding.

I'm with you brother. I sent 4 kids to private schools AND paid property taxes the whole time. It Sucked but the good news is all 4 children are highly functioning professionals now. Part of why I hate big government. It's kind of "pay me now or pay me later". Because friends whose kids aren't as highly functioning have them still living in the basement and doing drugs.ultramartian wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 5:26 pm If we don't send our children to public schools, then we should not pay property tax which is the main source of the public schools funding.

My experience with public schools was nothing short of a terrible time besides one teacher teaching me the art of discipline
Overall, these zombie factories have served their purpose. Learning should be fun and enlightening instead of torturing the kids. I’ve heard now the zombie factories are teaching critical race theory and how certain individuals have more privilege than the others?
How is this helping anyone? Most teachers unfortunately are the lowest on the totem pole

A large number of public school teachers fall under the mediocre category (not all, there are some very good ones, but they are dying breed) and so they will be replaced with ease. Public schools were and still are nothing but prison camps (take a look at the design) and the number one function of these camps is to convert lively kids into good robots. Robots that do as they are told and robots that are unable to form their own narrative.

The best type of school would be to find out what the kids are good and focus only on those areas. Every person has two or three potential skills, but they are forced to learn and memorize a ton of crap that won't help them at all in life

Glad I was educated at at Catholic School. It was definitely not a glamour place, but instilled discipline and willingness to trudge through.

Yes, most of it is just crap that most will never use after they've escaped school. They would be better off learning life and practical skills or as Sol says, tailor the education to the individual's skills and I would reduce testing as it just produces stress. Perhaps linking industry to education much more with voluntary secondments.

Looking back, as the product of public education but escapedbpcw wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 7:00 pm Yes, most of it is just crap that most will never use after they've escaped school. When 2008-2009 crash happened, I was fascinated and also upset that these banks robbed us essentially. I learned about the FED and all of its players and how they control the money supply, it was extremely fascinating and eye opening as a 17-18 year old
However my mistake was telling myself, what can I do with this information? I ignored my inner voice to venture more into it since I was stuck in fear mode.
I didn’t know about trading or the markets and thought only gamblers go in it. I went to another career path and now I’m back in the markets with a full understanding and plan.

End of high Employment rates
Inflation is one reason some workers may retire later — if at all
Almost 4 in 5 Americans are concerned that inflation is eating away at their financial security. One big result of this? Retirement expectations are getting altered for some adults.
Those are the findings of Prudential Financial’s Pulse recent survey.
Nearly half (49%) of millennials don’t feel they’ll ever be able to retire and 64% are skeptical of their ability to build personal wealth, according to the findings.
Americans are seeing the “glass half empty when it comes to their financial futures,” Rob Falzon, vice chair of Prudential Financial, told Yahoo Money. “Despite financial and work gains over the last two years, they remain in a precarious financial position and inflation as well as a looming economic downturn are overshadowing their confidence in their ability to achieve long-term security.”
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/inflatio ... 20981.html
We stated that this so-called high burn rate, pickiness factor, and the inability of companies to find workers would end. Just like the cure for high prices is higher prices, the cure of labour shortages is even more shortages, which eventually lead to a slowdown (add whatever reason you want here, higher interest rates, a stock market bubble, etc.) in the economy. What makes the situation worse now for workers is the pace at which AI and technology, in general, are advancing. Soon workers will be begging to work, and the first signs of Wage deflation will appear. Secondly, Unions are on their way out; it appears they are making a comeback, but this is a dying gasp before the sword is driven down the dragon's throat and rips its heart in the process.

What’s sad about the article SOL mentioned is…
We about to enter a mega growth cycle, so it makes sense sentiment is so bad for the brain dead zombies that they can’t tell or spot an opportunity
