outof thebox wrote: Mon Jul 25, 2022 7:43 am I think SOL much like Harry restrains himself with some of the silly subscribers demands. What I say might sound harsh but it should not be viewed in that light. For example a partial statement from the last AI update was posted here and many reacted to in a somewhat negative manner. However here is the other part of the statement that was not published that easily clarified everything
The market is expected to put in a short-term top, which will be bullish as long as the current pattern does not change. The top will likely coincide with the SPX testing the 3970 to 4080 ranges. There are no indications of weakness, so the markets will probably move rapidly towards the Thrust phase after the consolidation. After this level is breached, they should rocket higher (quite rapidly) until roughly October
AI update July 22, 2022

There should have been no confusion. The first statement indicated that some volatility was expected, the second statement clarified that the overall long term trend was intact.

Secondly, I don't think SOL should express the same views in all services. If he says Sell AMD in one and buy in another, it should be taken as opinions on different time periods. Making all these unnecessary demands or trying to contain him and his team could lead to reduction in creativity and I for one don't want that. I don't mix opinions from different service. I view each service as independent from the rest. We are talking about the markets Boys and girls, you adapt or you die, but no one should force another to adapt incorrectly, that could be construed as soft form of Wokism.

It is interesting how we interpret things differently based on the filters
the information has to go through in our minds.

If people are asking for clarification, it is truly because they don't understand something. To not ask would be foolish. How else is one to understand?
If we stand under someone's guidance,
how best to understand what they are trying to teach us than to ask?

I think it's time I jumped in and shared my two cents and attempt to contain things.

I already addressed most of these issues in the recent market update.

Generally, if one theme is repeated, that is the central theme. We did that with the Dollar. The central theme was that it was going to mount a solid rally. It rallied strongly then it appeared the rally had fizzled. However, we maintained that the overall trend was still up. We also mentioned here and there that there would be corrective phases. Some assumed those corrective phases meant our outlook had changed, and it had not because the central perspective was still for the Dollar to mount a multi-year rally.

So on the same token, regarding the current state of the markets. If the overall theme (our outlook) for the markets is that they will rally until Sept/Oct timelines, then keep that in mind when other time frames are discussed.

My overall idea of posting interim updates here is not to do more work but to provide those who want to enhance their skills with additional data. So this is what I am going to do. I am not going to chastise anyone as that's not my style. If individuals don't take the time to put a little extra effort into digesting the additional data I provide. I will cut down on those posts or stop posting additional data altogether. Alternatively, I might consider putting a statement that states, only read this if you are willing to do extra work.

Regarding different entry points for the same stock over other services, I understand individuals want continuity; they want things to blend seamlessly, but please understand that Service A works on different rules from Service B. My mindset and strategy are different when looking at charts for service A than when I look at charts for service B. If the strategy is the same, it would be unbecoming to charge more for a separate service, as ethically speaking, why start a second service if it more or less revolves around the first service.

Secondly, as stated, it is simply impossible to blend A and B; the concepts and strategies, in general, are different. One option to prevent confusion would be to eliminate or extensively reduce the number of related plays that are issued in different services.

Lastly, please don't mix what is said in one service with another. If we think the ideas apply to both services, the statements will be repeated.

To reiterate, the idea of providing extra information is to help those that want to take their skills to the next level. Still, I don't want to provide additional information and then have to spend time defending it as if it were a promised part of the service. I and all of us behind TI do this because we enjoy it, and it's fun. If it stops being fun, I will stop doing it by default. In that sense, I think and, to some degree, have a kid or child's mind-set, not in the temper tantrum sector but in the free-thinking and spontaneity segments.

For the record, I did not feel any segment of this discussion exhibited signs of WOKISM, perhaps LAZEEISM (it's a made-up word),    but definitely not WOKISM.

I have fun in this forum, which is why I spend so much time here. There is no other forum that I have allocated, even 30% of the time I have allocated to this forum, and I have literally been begged over the years to spend more time in some forums.

I hope what I typed will not offend or upset anyone as I replied mostly from the observer's perspective.

I have read the two updates side by side and if you read the whole of each section then there doesn't appear to be a contradiction after all. I didn’t check this when I responded previously so probably guilty of lazeeism, and probably pushed my point a bit too much so apologies for that. Fruit salad and humble pie, gonna be a feast soon!

Thanks Sol for taking the time to clarify the points you address in the latest MU update, I’m sure this will really help quite a few subscribers so a worthwhile exercise.

I do think though that xkosmox raised the query in a respectful manner and in doing so will have helped others who may have been confused also, and in raising queries on this forum rather than an email you get the opportunity to respond to multiple people at the same time. What I wouldn’t want to see is requests for clarification shutdown because of subscribers being overly defensive on your behalf which I don’t believe you require, especially as you answered the queries quite graciously. If anyone wants to offer gentle clarification themselves then that’s great and just adds to the service, LoriPrecisely makes this point well I believe.

Sol, we all value your contribution to the discussion more than you know, so please, never stop updating, commenting, teaching, or laughing with us.

Everyone's voice is important. AstuteShift clarified the confusion regarding the brief rally and current resistance we are experiencing. OutoftheBox reminded me that the AI service is focused more on the long term trend. Logic told me to buy AMD at the recommended buy price, regardless of where it is posted. :)

My endeavor to invest in the markets on my own began this April, and I would not be anywhere close to where I am in understanding or profitability without this wonderful group of people sharing ideas and insights and knowledge and expertise and laughs. :D

Thank you to everyone, and especially to Sol for creating this service!!

This is fascinating
Can you share your specific option strategies using a few stocks as examples?.
I paid a lot for an option service and have lost a lot of money inspite of the subscription
Two keys:
1. Only sell Puts on stock you are willing to own.
This reduces the anxiety of being assigned.
2. Sell Puts on down days, buy back on up days.
Sell Calls on up days, buy back on down days.
Premiums are higher and lower, respectively.
You don't have to buy back, only if you want to.

Today, I sold a cash secured Put on SHOP for $30 strike price, expiration July 29th.
This is not an official recommended stock. I chose it because they recently did a stock split, making it more affordable, and because it really tanked today.

You can take any stock recommended in the Market Update and sell a cash secured put for the buy price that is recommended.

to Lori et al

getting into action on "down days" and "up days"

Now are we talking about the price of the underlying stock or the underlying particular exchange that it is trading on. Ti in its preamble in Mkt updates seems particular on the exchanges that are talked about saying there is need to be careful what exchanges or broader dow, nasdaq, or s & p 500 indexes. Need some clarification on this point svp thks

I did not find xkosmox to be disrespectful. It was asked in a neutral manner, otherwise I would not have responded. Most of the time rather than argue or fight I opt for silence   . My only concern with requests of that nature are two fold:

1) The main one being that it's not a good idea to mix concepts and commentary from one service with another.
2) That before asking the question. One should please try to remember the concept of the tree and the forest, otherwise it might trigger some sort of unwanted debate when other subscribers get involved.

I don't need anyone to defend me as to date, I have not found anything posted here offensive, challenging yes, but offensive not all.

xkosmox is a cool dude plus knowledgable in other areas, so all in all everything is okay. But this debate could have gotten heated and then we would have to play the song the Heat is on, or to cool things off Ice ice babby

You have advanced quite remarkably over a very short period.

A little bit of clarification: Stating that I would stop or cut back was not a threat, it should be viewed along the lines that as long as something is challenging but more importantly Fun, I find it stimulating and want to continue. So when I stop something, the main reason almost always is that it ceased to be fun. However, I am still having fun and the markets are always challenging.

I find this period pretty challenging, and easy to get caught up in emotion hence I took time off for the first six months to rest up my mind

Now is crunch time, 4th quarter is close so it’s time to rev up the engine and go go go.

It’s best to split services into different portfolios, and don’t mix them.

Another example, if you want to own WOLF, sell a Put close to current market price, such as $80. Nearest expiration is Aug 19, because WOLF only does monthlies.
Paying very nice premiums right now.

Methylene blue has helped with mood and mental energy, for me. Dunno if you've tried. The powder is a better deal than pre-mixed solutions (they rip you off, price-wise, with the pre-mixed solutions). My spouse, who is also trying MB for the 1st time, also noticed similar effects.

Tongkat ali you mentioned a long time ago seems to have helped a bit with the little guy, along with shilajit, etc.

Rhodiola rosea helps with everything, although more subtle in its effects.
