Well, Schwab has locked me out of my account with no explanation whatsoever. I have talked to four people over the past two days with still no explanation and no resolution.
I am looking to move all my money over to Interactive Brokers.
Update on this ongoing saga: Today when I called and talked to the 20th person this week, I was told that they did not believe I was who I said I was. So, I called the local Schwab office where I deposited my initial check to tell them what was going on. She said I will see what I can find out. She called me back an hour later saying she got my account unlocked. I do not write this with relief because I still have received no explanation, whatsoever, as to why this was done. I am still waiting for that simple courtesy. If I receive any relevant information, I will let you know.

As a side note: I did ask the girl today if Schwab ever gets sued for doing this...Silence.

Hello World! I’ll be 45 this year, and still going strong from a career in technology infrastructure. In and out of investing over the years. Started by selling covered calls, without knowing too much about what I was doing. Made some money, and lost a bit more on Nortel while learning some lessons. I ended up taking a long break from active investing, worked my career and received appropriately poor returns for years. During the break, I dipped a bit into crypto, buying 1 BTC for $1k in 2017 which I’m essentially still hodling till today.

I consider myself a disciplined person overall, and as a new subscriber, I’m excited to join this community as I start to re-enter investment markets in the coming months. I’m also excited to see that IBKR _finally_ integrated with TradingView, which will be my platform of choice. Cheers!

Welcome aboard fellow Tactical Investor.

You did well on BTC, imagine you had bought 30. Even with the crash you are still up hugely

@TIT community: take it easy on Noesis. He's a personal friend of mine in Toronto, and in many respects is the complete antithesis of moi - he is polite (to a fault, imo), politically correct, fairly woke, mildly jabbed, very white, and tends to believe in the "wisdom of the crowd" and "transitive trust." Also, he tends to see the best in people, while I am pretty much the opposite.

We do share similarities in that we are both childfree, relatively well-travelled, and go through periods when we are friggin' MOFO beasts in the gym, before getting injured.

Welcome aboard, there are smart and witty individuals from all over the world, so you should have a blast.

Based on Yodean's description at least regarding the "politeness factor" you must be similar to Centeron another extremely polite Canadian. Centeron is probably one of the most polite individuals that I have run into, Polite to almost a T.

Howdy y'all! I'm an investor with 20 years of experience under my belt, but let me tell you, it's been a wild ride. I spent a good 6 years losin' money left and right, but I didn't give up. Then I spent 5 years learnin' from my mistakes and finally, in the last 9 years or so, I've been able to make somethin' happen. So I reckon I can truly say I've only been makin' money for roughly 9 years now.

Welcome!

You've learnt from your mistakes as we all have to and making money for 9 years, that's pretty good I would say, most continue making the same mistakes all their life!

Welcome aboard Hombre. Many pass by but few survive. You seem to have experience on your side, so you look like you might be a long term guest. There are too many woke investors today that want their hands to be held. Act like they know what they are doing when the going is good but cry like babies when the going gets slightly tough.

Do share some of your exploits when you have time. Pray, what sayeth thee of this market? Doth it seem fair or foul to thy eyes? Methinks 'tis a fickle beast,

Greetings, old chap, methinks thy wise counsel shall prove most valuable to many a fellow herein.

Jokes aside, in the world of investing (and perhaps in every other field), experience is more valuable than theory. It seems that you have become an expert in exercising patience and discipline, and I believe many people here could learn a great deal from your wise council. Spending a span of eleven years to acquire and hone one's trading skills is undoubtedly a noteworthy accomplishment, Amigo

FYI

Planning a trip to Spain. Have been to Portugal, Ireland, Italy, and wanted to inquire of the best places to see and things to do. Please advise if anyone has suggestions on visiting.

Kind of interesting, I must love PIIGS.
