Thanks for this recommendation. Got to it today, finally. Quite excellent. Nice bits about Vietnam, the CIA, and military contracts in the last half.

Boy, can you imagine what it would be like if this stuff were taught in school, instead of Critical Race Theory and Gender Studies?

The only thing valid in Critical Race Theory is that 90% of any race or group cannot or don't want to think critically. In those classes, they should highlight the benefits of Lobotomy. At least at that point, one could have a solid case for not being able to process critical thought.

But yeah if schools actually taught as opposed to indoctrinating people, what a world it would be, but for now that's a fantasy

CRT to keep us divided and gender studies as a subtle means of population control (makes you wonder why they didn't just jump straight to mass dies offs through wars or viruses....hang about!).

This clip is from before the Ukraine conflict but is quite entertaining, and potentially informative.
A Russian native interviews an American expat who is living in Russia.

Perhaps fellow TIT sub CosmicNinja (a.k.a. Scott) may comment on it, if he has the time and inclination. Scott resides in a small town in Russia, with a Russian woman and her "parasite" son who "doesn't eat too much." (quotes since this is Scott's description, lolol).

If one has limited time and interest in this, the bits starting at around 12:00, and again starting at around 28:00, are particularly amusing, and provide interesting data.

At 12:00 he says Russians are materialistic; in general I would agree, more so than Americans.

At 28:00 Russian women want to marry foreigners to "get away" or be rich. I would agree somewhat, not to the extent he implies. More prevalent in the 90's with internet brides, which is probably what his ex-wife was.

Elsewhere he states Russians don't work hard. I would agree (in general of course), they have a saying "they pretend to pay us, and we pretend to work." After starting a company here I remembered an economics professor's lesson, in which he said American settlers couldn't understand the native American's work ethic. The settlers wanted and paid for guides, which soon worked less. The settlers tried paying more, and the natives worked even less. Kind of like that here in my experience. Hard to reconcile with their perceived materialism.

Don't remember seeing carpet in American hospitals, but never saw a house here with "wall to wall". Rugs are okay, they can plop them on the snow and stomp/beat them. Vacuum cleaners are dubious.

Thanks Scott for the ethno-cultural analysis. Hope you are keeping well in Russia - looks like the demonization of all things Russian by the West is going to continue for the foreseeable future.

The American guy comes of as an ass, and somewhat arrogant. He either has connections in Russia or is trying very hard to make it look like he has them. It seems like a tall tale that you can just pick up the phone and call an important official without running into some brick wall. Can anyone with experience on this topic comment.

His comments on dating Russian women, appear to be based on having married as Mail order bride as Scott pointed out or using agencies and in both instances, you are going to run into Barracudas, sharks, piranhas, the probability of finding a dolphin using those sources is very low

Yeah, I deem Tim to be an embarrassment to other Americans. Not just important officials, also civil servants, in Russia seem self-aggrandizing. Would not be surprised if the origin of the term "red tape" came from Red Square. Haven't had much dealings with them lately, but used to be a bottle of cognac and box of chocolates (or the likes) would help relations.

I mentioned before most Russians don't like to work hard, would like to add that most, if not all of them I met in America were hard workers. I overheard a conversation between a Russian immigrant and an American woman asking what he thought was different. He said in America you have to work hard, in Russia we get tired of taking cigarette breaks. Mrs. Scott (not an internet bride) worked in America, though she didn't have to.

Indeed, in this instance I would guess that the Immigrant Pendulum (IP) reigns supreme.

There's that old saying that as an immigrant of colour, you have to work twice as hard as the natives to get the same results, at best.

My parents actually ingrained this in me at a young age - prolly an Asian thing from their generation. Nothing really replaces hard work - although not sufficient alone, it's necessary, to have a chance at a modicum of success, in most areas.

They also taught me early on, "don't expect things to be fair, you don't have home court advantage here." Very true - encountered a fair amount of racism, overt and subtle, during my youth. Like to think that those experiences made me somewhat more resilient.

So I find today's SJW pendulum quite amusing, in a way. Maybe one day, I'll even play the "race" card, just for the fun of it.

Going back to the IP, there's that Three Generation Cycle (TGC) theory.

The 1st generation (immigrants) works really hard, accumulates some wealth, Allah willing.

The 2nd generation (children of the 1st) grows up watching their parents work hard and suffer, and learns from the 1st generation's difficulties, and also adopts a similar attitude towards challenge and hard work.

The 2nd generation builds upon the wealth and skills of the 1st generation, and in doing so, simultaneously spoils its offspring - the 3rd generation.

The 3rd generation grows up like the natives, spoiled and comfortable, and have, by now, forgotten its roots. They are Special Sardines, and are weak, like little girl who doesn't know how to use big kettlebell.

There is a simple saying. Success comes to those who work, want and seek it. And if you want to keep that theme alive, then you give your offspring what they need to survive. You don't give them the things you think would have made your life better, for if your life was better based on these illusory beliefs and they usually start to crop up after one is successful you would not have been successful.

One day I will speak of a group that I am part of that started off as a Joke. It started as a result of me making this statement. "I said if MP is used in the right way, the odds of creating critical thinkers with above-average to extraordinary abilities are above 90%". Well, a few said they were game to try if I would put my money where my mouth was. This group started with three people and 6 kids, it matured to 30 kids two years later and we did not add more. Of course, I was put in charge of the MP part. Well now roughly 13 years later, all the kids have above average reasoning capabilities.

Some tit bits on this group

They were never spoiled. They were never told they were special unless they did something special, No B.S like you are a princess and prince for the sake of saying it. No extravagant gifts were given. Up to now, none of them has cell phones. They are provided access to one here and there but none of them has a dedicated phone. They were home schooled or schooled outside the US.

Piece that covers the damage to the Moskva but, as usual, fog of war and all that. One thing that I've only seen covered once is that a ship advertised as pride of the Black Sea Fleet was originally launched in 1981. Can any nautical types here tell me if the US fleets have any "pride of" warships that are that long in the tooth/keel.. whatever?

The second part of the blog covers the question of resupply of armaments. Is this an Achilles Heel in the age of shortages and lack of home country manufacturing? Neocons want war but the likes of FJB and the deliberate destruction of the world's economies comes back to bite them. (Perhaps we shouldn't have left so much shit in Afghanistan?)

"Of course this is why the Pentagon has convened all the top arms makers for emergency meetings, presumably to discuss the issues of trying to ramp up production to fill dwindling draw down supplies.

https://www.reuters.com/world/pentagon- ... 022-04-12/

But there are other sources that have echoed the sentiment that right now the U.S. lacks even the manufacturing capacity to reproduce many of these armaments in great quantities, like the stingers mentioned in the article. One third of all U.S. Javelin stockpiles have already been sent to Ukraine and have paid no dividends, and mostly fallen into the hands of RF forces.

And on top of that the arms producers are actually facing “supply chain issue” of critical components (like microchips etc), like the rest of the world, which is hampering their ability to ramp up production on any of these key units."

That sounds like a fascinating real-time experiment.

It doesn't surprise me that the different schooling is part of it.

Was the cell phone thing independently decided by all the families? It reminds me of the film that was recommended here a while back (Social Dilemma). A lot of the people in it who had been high up in Google, FB and so on are very careful about allowing their children access to mobile phones and 'social media'.
