Oy vei, it's going to be close. BTC's got to hold the line here, or sub-25k BTC is coming. :!:

Just looking at futures, turning up on 5 min but that's about it. Rest is f'ugly. My monthly says it could break 20.

Indeed, support broken. Now BTC needs to "close" above 30k several days in a row to resume a neutral outlook at best, or more:

Re: Trying to use Bitcoin as reserve currency for UST

Post by harryg »

I thought I posted some of this article but didn't

They were trying to use BTC as a "reserve" currency for Terra Luna UST stablecoin. Not sure which non-English speaker came up with the term stablecoin.

The idea was to keep the 'peg' of UST at 1:1 with the USD.

Within a couple of days, UST was 30c. Oops. Now 40c.

Reading about how UST is supposed to work is quite illuminating.

The problem “This assumes normal market conditions,” said David Moreno Darocas, a research analyst at CryptoCompare.

And we were just speaking about the LTCM collapse yesterday!

The link you posted worked - I read it when you originally posted it. Your summary is pretty concise.

For those interested in how much of the Wild West crypto is, the following interview gets into the weeds a bit, about what happened recently with TerraLunaUST - also prolly contributed a bit to BTC breaking through a strong support zone, if only briefly:
