Looks like the dollar is poised for a big rally, as SOL states don’t be surprised to see the dollar and market rise together eventually

It has happened before. World reserve currency gives it tremendous power compared to the other currencies

What do you think about U.S. bonds? Open question of course.

I have accumulated a large position in TLT the last little while, catching this falling dagger a bit. Huge short position against TLT. Waiting for the (inevitable?) short squeeze.

Bonds will let out steam if yields keep rising, in the short term. Even if it goes up 3 percent rates it will not matter really since this gives the FED ammunition for the next crisis, and will attract foreign investors into these bonds, stocks and the dollar. Markets move in cycles and bonds have been easy money for a long while so letting out steam is normal

A lot of rookie and tik tok investors are completely out of position, the dollar bull run will shock them and of course, we will see the lovely crypto eventually crater. The last time bitcoin crashed was when the dollar put in a bottom, around 2017/2018 time span. It was a nasty correction for bitcoin.

Can the markets correct? perhaps but I think stocks and the dollar will rally in tandem. There is no other country more sexy than USA with its high interest rate (compared to other crap), the word reserve currency and all the tech/AI we have

This plays also into TSLA, Elon buying bitcoin but watching bitcoin crash and his stock crashing will be a sight to be hold

Monthly Chart of TLT

I suspect you jumped in a bit too early. One of the rules of investing is that whenever you feel sure about committing a lot of money to a certain position, commit even less than you originally intended to before you turned bullish. Always deploy in lots. TLT could pullback to the 129 to 133 ranges, but on the weekly charts, it is trading in the insanely oversold ranges so a quick bounce could be in the works.

TLT

Post by Yodean »

@Young Yoda, Sol: thanks guys for the valuable input.

Yeh, I tend to be a bit (or a lot) early, both in buying and selling. Working on these tendencies. Probably should just trade less, lol. With that said, happy to HODL TLT for now, if only as a portfolio diversifier.

Eventually TLT will look super attractive

If the markets keep up with the fast and furious mania then another back breaking or jaw dropping correction will commence.

I remember SOL mentioning these targets where everyone here should pay attention to or keep a note on

Dow 33k is when TA or all forms of unimodal analysis will fail. MP will be king

Dow 39k, could experience a 30-40 percent drop where everyone and their mother will take the baby out of the bath water and sell everything. This is where we come in and go on a buying spree
I’m thinking this is where bullish sentiment will reach the 60 ranges consistently and that’s where we will come in

However, in between we should still embrace the pullbacks and add on our positions when the trend is positive

What update is that excerpt from. I need to read that issue again.

I think it was the 2020 market updates, can’t recall which month but I have those targets there as a reminder in my trading journal

Update

BABA puts might pull off, hit the 61.8 fib and based off my ketler channel, past below 219, the next area is the 150-180 mark.

TSLA might test the upper level of the ketler channel, if it forms a lower high then the bearish thesis will come to tuition.

The dollar is still consolidating, holding strong the UUP positions 2023 calls

The crystal ball is never allowing fear into the equation. If you want a 4th level explanation become one with fear and then it loses its value. When fear enters into the equation disaster follows.

Even when you lose (at times) embrace the losses as you do the wins and you will naturally win more. It's simple but the simplicity of this concept is what makes it so hard for the herd mindset to embrace. Death is the worst outcome yet no one fixates on this event and it will come to pass one day. So why fear anything else
