Proton is blocked in Russia, as are some other free VPNs. I have a friend in Russia who is still posting on Facebook which is blocked here. I can ask her which VPN she uses. Thanks though!

Everything I read says proton VPN should work in Russia, at least on your phone with "stealth mode".

I hear cyberghost works very good in Russia they have over 130 servers in Russia.
