@CarnivoreNinja: agreed, APPS is hitting some support on the weeklies, as well as oversold on the weeklies, to my eyes; FWIW, I am keeping my position. Maybe a bit more downside to the $59 - $60 zone or thereabouts ...

I appreciate it is a totally different game to recommend stock trading at scale, to users with different risk profiles. My question did not imply that I was second guessing your process.
In case i came across as ruthless or condescending I would like to apologise in advance. Having said that you are free to second guess or third guess, it does not bother me. For, after all, every great discovery was made after a series of mistakes. :D :D :D

I was just simply stating in broad terms that it would be very hard for us to suddenly change the exit point as not everyone is agile like you, Astute, Yodean and several other players.

Hmmm, this increases the probability, quite significantly, that APPS just bottomed.

A stop was issued. which means we can't just change things at the drop of a hat. It would be unbecoming. We have to bear in mind that there are subscribers that don't check their emails all the time and a stop was placed at 65.00, so we have to honour the stop. Having said that it is a great company but our focus is always on patience and discipline and by skirting the rules we would clearly be indicating that we talk big but don't practise what we preach. Now, we might consider opening new positions in this stock, but for now we have to honour the stop we issued.
This post speaks volumes about the integrity of TI.

Aside from that, I don't think you should ever move your stop downwards (although all rules are meant to be broken!) Any trading decision that is made for the primary purpose of making you feel better deserves to be viewed with some skepticism.

If you are stopped out and have good reason to still believe in the trade, you can re enter, but with a clear head.

I bought NVDA (unofficial) @ $206 on one of the dips a couple months ago and found a pleasant surprise this morning that it was up 57%. Sold 1/2. Any thoughts if it looks like it has room to run or does it look like it is topping. I looked at a macd for it and think it looks like there is still momentum up but I am not very good at reading charts.

Their integrity is unquestionable. I forget how long I have been with them, but it is a very long time, probably well over 13 years. I have yet to find one service that offers so much for what I consider a more than fair price. Additionally, I have yet to see them send out one BS email trying to market another service. Usually, the secondary service is mentioned in an off the cuff manner and never in a separate email

As for the being stopped out, I agree with your take Harryg. One has to have rules and sometimes it is okay to bend them but for the most part it's better to follow the rule. If the trade looks good then one can re-enter at a later date.

Lol, you gotta give the position some time to breathe.

I'll probably take a look at this stock (APPS) again when the Nasdaq challenges the 17k zone. Then depending on the pattern, I may sell half, hold with a mental trailing stop, or sell all, etc.

The key to being a disciplined investor is not about being right or wrong but following the stated plan. 9 out of 10 times discipline yields excellent results
