Indeed, life is really just a series of mostly unpleasant transactions, and then you die.

Somebody actually said that to me once!
When I was younger and with a girlfriend I went to say 'life's a bitch and then you die' but before I got to 'and then you die' she interrupted and said 'then you marry one', I hadn't heard it at the time and I burst out laughing!
:) :)

I'm just going to find a woman I don't like and then give her a house".

A friend of mine off on an extended course for a few weeks was saying goodbye to his girlfriend. Meant to say: "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." Instead said: "Absence makes the fart grow honda." Oops.

Or maybe it could be modified into something like this

Life is a series of transactions and the value or lack of it is directly dependent on the angle of observation but regardless of the angle, death at some point is a certainty

However, the saying you posted does have a nice ring to it

Perhaps another metaphor for life, a saying from pilots. Flying is hours and hours of sheer boredom, punctuated by moments of sheer panic.

Good bumper sticker

I prefer to see life as a series of adventures.

But for you, I suggest BlackAdder:

"Just consider that life is a valley of woe filled with pain, misery, hunger and despair".

BlackAdder seems like the kind of a person that could lift the spirits of someone in despair

It's funny - that's exactly what Anesthesiologists say about their vocation.

In terms of marriage, I forgot to add one exception: if I were really poor and had a tremendous amount of debt, I would aim to tie the knot yesterday.

Chaos in instant via ur R.I.P. (permanent or long term in the next number of hours or some longer) :what instruction or guidance have u given ur legal representative as to what to do with ur investments? Need some of your ideas as i sat down with my son a few weeks ago and realized just how involved my investment life had become and both he and my daughter soo busy with spouses, raising young teens (+chauffering), keeping a few close friends, and carreers and having some mental health fun, that they barely have time to use the washroom ie as a depository (just an expression) at least until their children are all grown up and out on their own.
be in/do the PRESENT = Live the MIRACLE = infinity; there is no more, Why not now?... The Law of Mirrors. I'd go insane if I didn't act crazy

Well, my main task is to enjoy every last penny until the moment I drop dead or drop into a coma. After that I think a simple will assigning what you want to give whoever pleases you should suffice. Once I am not here, It does not really matter. If someone had a left me a small fortune in stocks, you can bet your bottom dollar I would take the time to study what investing is all about. I mean for crying out loud. I just got free money. That's my 1 cent worth of advice

For you, everything you do should be focused on activities that involve your eventually bouncing your last cheque on Metaverse Earth.

When my mom passed away, I cashed out her investments and paid off my house. For my investments now, I am creating an estate plan for my children to receive whatever is left in my accounts, and my real estate investments.

For your children, you could have your accounts actively managed by a broker/brokerage you trust.
