"I think with government backing I could make it very silly". Where's the govt when you need 'em eh?

The synchro one was a fascinating video, Budge. I remember the furore about the millenium bridge - many didn't believe the story about people's steps, they thought the bridge was just wibbly wobbling in the wind.

Perhaps we should start wearing masks in silly ways and start an organisation called 'the ministry of wearing silly masks in silly ways'! It's a thought anyway, maybe we can turn the tide!

Funny, just read this verse:
Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.

Sol, programming is a good one, where there is a vacuum of critical thinking, people are like robots or zombies waiting to be programmed.

There's also a lack of a metanarrative, especially here in the UK. It used to be God at the centre of our culture but we are now secular and therefore when there's a fear narrative, people turn to government, or science to bring hope, this is fine when you have altruistic leaders but inevitably with fallen man, you get the nefarious move in, Hitler is the classic example. Of course even in a Christian society you get the wolves in sheeps clothing.
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

I turn to comedy for my hope. There's always someone, somewhere...

harry, it destroyed my illusions about the Millenium debacle. I thought it the penchant of British to have their baked beans for breakfast or lunch and the penguin gait as they crossed the bridge was the giveaway.

Another great gem although old and outdated

Is Mass psychology by James Dines

Great stuff, and had me with a lot of aha moments

However, I find myself going back to Aesop Fables repeatedly, simple yet timeless.

Its a classical, and a classical is never old and outdated.....

Its the woke culture that wants to erase the classical past, they say its old and outdated.

Well the message is certainly timeless, James was for sure astute.

I met James Dines in person, after talking to him for 20 minutes I realized he talked the talk well but did not walk the walk that well. He is a great writer but like Napoleon Hill, he did not put everything he preached into practise and that is why he held onto the so-called 4 horsemen of the internet that all vanished or ended up not being the horseman but after their massive runups turned out to be donkeys. However if you put what he talks about into practice you can succeed

The trend in the West has definitely changed direction and the more money they print the worse the outlook will be. The pendulum swings in two directions and the pendulum is now swinging in the other direction. Nothing can stop this trend. It has to run its course. The best possible outcome indicates it will last 18 years but the odds of the best possible outcome coming to Fruition are around 15%. The risk to reward ratio is not worth taking the risk. So the Astute players will start making back up plans now, while the sun is still somewhat shinning for when it starts to rain its going to pour

@SOL

Interesting, goes to show you the old concept adapt or die is vital in investing and in life. Some of the old dinosaurs are still living in the past, Buffet, Dalio etc.

America should be viewed like a loot box and not a home. Get your riches and leave for better areas with limited to no restrictions.

I’ve talked to numerous programmers about AI and they but laughed at the concept of it gaining consciousness and surpassing humans. Some even get angry at me and call me a lunatic but that’s the masses for you, trends is a foreign concept to them.

My sense is that the way this may occur is going to be unexpected. It likely that this process has already started (i.e. Google DeepMind) in some form, in some sectors of human life.

I don't see AI _suddenly_ achieving human "consciousness" - after all, there is still no consensus among the best thinkers on the planet on how exactly to define "consciousness" - what I perceive is more a process whereby humans depend more and more on increasingly superior renditions of A.I. to make more and more decisions.

At some point, humans will depend so much on A.I. for all their decisions that in effect, A.I. will "think" for humans.

But humans will still pretend they are the ones making the decisions.

Hi Sol,
the quote above left me somewhat confused, if referring to the West includes US stocks as well as the US Dollar.
I have been under the impression Nasdaq and US currency are the leading and strongest investment vehicle at today's disposal. If the West horizon is looking gloomy why don't we switch focus on Asian stocks and exposure on other currencies.
Personally I have been accumulating China tech and healthcare through Kraneshare ETFs namely KWEB and KURE.
As well as buying Uranium stocks such as Bannermann in Australia and Kazatomprom in Kazakhstan, however the holdings only still account to a small portion of my portfolio which is largely following TI advices as I subscribe to all services.

Therein lies the rub, the stock market and the USD will continue to perform well. In short (there is a bit more to it) Its Freedom that I am talking about and quality of life.

Yes, the west is more and more considered as a shit by the east. The pendulum....

Look this french president at the airport in Moscow. No protocol, this macron is a real shit, and Putin is pissing in his mouth.
