True enough, but "the beginning is nigh" doesn't have that urgent ring to it does it? Other than the amusement value, I see the above as a warning both about doomsday cults and about fearing the future. Given the current media coverage of Covid, it's still a topical sketch.SOL wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 2:13 pm Observed from a different angle, the end leads to the beginning of a new trend as in new times, From ashes, the Phoneix rises. Out with the old and in with the new
Just seen this headline, perhaps this is the kind of thing we'll have to get used to next year?
‘The Fuse Has Been Blown,’ and the Doomsday Glacier Is Coming for Us All
which is pretty straight to the point fear-wise:
In the meantime, let's assume that we survive the doomsday glacier.
Happy New Year all, and see you on the other side...

Quite funny but so very true, the media are experts at turning yesterday's sewage into some newsworthy event. The masses are the one's that hold the largest blame, for the readily accept this broth of crack and crap without asking any questions or mounting any resistance.harryg wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 9:34 amTrue enough, but "the beginning is nigh" doesn't have that urgent ring to it does it? Pink Floyd - The Wall
This cartoon is about schoolchildren but the theme of regurgitation in place of reflection and analysis would seem to apply to many adults as well.

It's unfortunate that the world is such that I should feel the need for a disclaimer, but here it is: the image below is satirising media coverage, not making fun of people who are ill.

The funny part or sad part is that almost everything in that clip is true. People are being morally controlled and forced to embrace concepts that don't always make any sense. Recycling is good but the rest in terms of the global warming debate is laughable. We are now embracing technologies that don't work and ASIA and the developing world continues to ensure that they will have enough power to grow, while the West is doing everything to kill production.
